Today this practice advertises on their 'overview' website that they are taking on new patients. Why? At present I am told there is no telephone call slot to talk to with the GP by whom I was referred for consultant advice. No he hasn't left the practice! I could, however, book a slot in a months time to speak to another doctor, by phone.This is despite having received text messages to arrange telephone contact with a doctor and the surgery pharmacist. OK, I admit I'm not at death's door, but with this long wait even to speak to someone (even following a request from the practice to do so), how can they take on new patients when the staff and practitioners are already totally overwhelmed?

The Reception Staff here are exceptional. Always polite, efficient and helpful and the staff that I have spoken to recently have always gone the extra mile. If you provide the information they need they will be able to find out the best next steps for you. Would highly recommend this surgery.

We registered with Alney Practice recently and have been really pleased with how quickly they reply to online contact, also with how our queries have been resolved.

Very disappointed not to have been able to see a GP for face to face appoint since joining practice last october , I have high blood pressure & recently diagnosed type 2 diabetic I have already changed to new surgery & would not recommend the Alney practice , chelt Rd surgery needs a drastic refurb , it’s like stepping back to the 60,s.& has no parking . Takes on average 45 mins to have your call answered

Dear patient, Thank you for your feedback. I apologise for your experiences. We have face to face appointments available both on the day and routinely. We also will call in anyone who needs to be seen following a telephone call. We are in constant discussions about a change in site for Cheltenham Road and we are aware it is outdated. We have hired more Care Navigators and constantly monitor our incoming calls, number of calls, average waiting times etc. and our reception lead will adjust rotas to fit any patterns we identify.
