I attended an appointment and needed to book to have my blood pressure taken. The Receptionist on duty fitted me in with 15 minutes. Great service.

  3. Review titled Waste of an appointment

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I was asked to make an appointment after filling in a form on the nhs app. My greatest concern was the issue was affecting my mental health. That side of things was practically ignored during my consultation. Gp was very pleasant though and suggested I could go private as an alternative to waiting for an nhs referral. I was suprised this was suggested but unfortunately it is well out of my remit. All in all I was left wondering why I'd been asked to make an appointment as it had turned out to be a waste of both our time. I noted afterwards the notes regarding safety netting I appeared to have missed this during my consultation. If anything I had found that my initial concerns had all been overlooked. I will add that mostly this GP surgery is very effective and my experience on this day was not the norm. Generally I find that the receptionist and admin staff are all very helpful and the GPs are mostly efficient and to the point.

  4. Review titled Useless experience ever

Rated 1 star out of 5

I was badly ill with chest infection cough from more than 2 weeks, and I visited the GP to get something antibiotics from the doctor, and she without checking and testing me, she said she can't prescribe anything to me. I explained it to her for 10 minutes that I need some medication because I'm badly ill but she said make complaint or what so ever, she can't prescribe it. Then my friend had antibiotics in his home and I took them and I got better but doctor insisted that I don't need anything. Worse ever gp in my life.

Dear Rehan, Thank you for your feedback. I see from your medical record that our receptionist advised you that you should see a pharmacist for your condition, however you refused care navigation and insisted on a face to face appointment. Contrary to your claim that the clinician did not check or test you, she recorded in your medical record your heart rate, your oxygen saturation levels, your temperature, and then she listened to your chest during your recent consultation. Your assessment indicated that antibiotics were not needed. This was in-line with the latest evidence based guidance. It was also recorded in the consultation that you were insisting on antibiotics, but that your illness was viral and therefore antibiotics were not indicated. Your medical record was then reviewed by one of our GP Partners, who also spoke to you on the telephone to confirm that you had been managed correctly. You are strongly advised to never take another person's leftover antibiotics. When you DO need antibiotics, it is important to complete the course so that the bacteria in your body do not become resistant to that antibiotic, and therefore harder to treat in future. Additionally, taking another person's medication may lead to unwanted side effects. In summary, we feel that our clinician provided you with appropriate care. You were also provided with a second opinion that confirmed the diagnosis and advice provided. Marie, Practice Manager.

I booked 2 appointments and was seen on the same day. Receptionists were extremely helpful and the GP was very kind and considerate and listened to me and put together a plan. Cannot fault the service I received. Thank you.

  6. Review titled Bordering on negligent

Rated 1 star out of 5

I called up for an appointment for my 3 week old baby having only seen a midwife and feeling fobbed off by them and still concerned. The GP did not offer a face to face appointment, simply a phone consultation. Fobbed me off again. I was seen by a senior midwife the day after and the baby was taken to A&E by ambulance. It is policy in the NHS for GPs to see infants this young face to face and I know now to demand more for my child. Appalling service. I can’t even book in her jabs or 6 week check as they need a “secretary” to look at paperwork and contact parents. It’s very poor and means we are waiting around and are expected to be able to drop everything when the secretary can be bothered to do their jobs. It shouldn’t be this hard to get basic levels of care for a newborn baby.
