    Back in the 80s I had an allocated doctor at this surgery, that continued until the late 90s when they retired. I never met my doctor, other than as a baby. After they retired we were allocted a new doctor, who left after a few years then for the next 20 years we floated around which ever doctor was free. If you want to make an appointment remotely you have to call at 9:00, if you call after 9:30 there will be no slots. 95% of the time you will be told to call back in 2 weeks as they are fully booked for that period. You also have a 50/50 chance of someone answering the phone. If you walk into the clinc you are more likely to be seen, but they will also often turn you away and tell you that you have to phone to book (again there is a 15/30 min window to do this). Once you are in, and you have an appointment, then things are fine. The surgery is old, but it's clean and the doctors/nurses are friendly. Having had a child in 2020 I just used 111 and went to St Peters for all medical advise. 111 would ask us to speak to the GP but we had to explain they are only only from 9-5 on weekdays, not on weekends and you cannot make appointments over the phone. On 4 occassions 111 made a registration for us with the doctors to be seen to get medicine for our child, on all four occasions Studholme said they had no record. I moved two during 15 years, and informed them multiple times, yet my address was never updated. You cannot get a form online, you cannot get a form for the surgery. I moved in 2023 overseas, and now need to get my medical records (as the UK is not digital). Obviously it's impossible to get hold of anyone from the surgery to arrange this, so i will have to get all of my vacinations again most likely, or else I will not be able to apply for a green card. I do not miss the constant fighting of trying to be seen at the surgery. Again when you get an answer, then you get a great service, but 90%+ of the time you just won't be seen for months.

    I rang with an urgent request for my daughter who is type one diabetic, a fantastic receptionist and doctor arranged for an electronic prescription to be sent immediately. This was done within two hours and sent to a pharmacy out of the area. They were brilliant

    Had a text confirmation re appointment that I hadn't made so had to call the surgery to ascertain if the appointment was for my daughter or myself (this might be something the surgery needs to change when sending a text message. A parent will have the same phone number as the child so maybe add the name of the patient to the text message to save us having to phone in). I was able to change the appointment to a date that suited me and the lady I spoke to was polite, professional and helpful.

    You can never get an appointment - they telephone staff don't seem to listen to a request and do anything to get you off the phone. I requested an urgent doctors telephone appointment to obtain pain medication - earliest phone appointment that I was told was available was in 2 & 1/2 weeks time. Lady on switchboard says no other appointments available I would just have to wait. The service is shocking. However funnily enough when I needed a document signed that they charged for they managed to get it squeezed in ok!!

    Staff are rude and obstructive, and seem determined to keep patients away. Almost impossible to get an appointment in a time frame that is likely to be of any assistance.

    Great GPs , nurses etc but they seem overwhelmed. It’s impossible to get an appointment even if you get a text telling you to come in and book an appointment. It started going pear shaped after one of the founding members retired then covid hit and they haven’t recovered. They probably need more admin and organisation but I can’t see it improving any time soon . At the moment I would not recommend no

    Can’t get any appointments and have to wait 12 days just to get a telephone appointment even though can’t eat been being sick and swollen tummy and legs

    I tried on several days to use the online appointment request form - the only way to request an appointment with Studholme. It was constantly closed due to high volume. On Friday morning I tried at 0800 but couldn’t get on the form, some online problem. I went to the surgery and a man took my name and date of birth and reason for wanting an appointment. Said I’d get a text later with a date for an appointment. Waited all day and heard nothing. Will now have to start all over again after the bank holiday. This is typical of trying to get an appointment at Studholme since the pandemic. I’m considering moving to another surgery after 40 years.
