    I rang up a few weeks ago to get a blood test, waiting time at that point a mere six weeks, so I booked it, since then I have received both letters and text Messages asking me to get a blood test done, and to book an appointment for my annual check up! I ring up and explain that it is already arranged albeit still to happen and they just say fair enough and offer platitudes, as for the annual check up I have told them in no uncertain terms that I do not want one, all they do is fat shame you and tell you what you already know, so to save them time and resources I do not want one. How simple is that? The Doctors are generally ok although many of those I remember fondly have long since gone, those that remain are ok yet they really do struggle to talk to you directly preferring instead to send you mails and snotty letters with no right of reply! Using shock tactics is now the norm like in a recent communication when I was informed that I had stage three kidney disease, really, don’t you think it would have been better to tell me that on a one to one basis, ah we’ll call me old fashioned if you like but I do prefer to be woken too as an adult and whilst they have their jobs to do I really wish they would stop expecting others to do that on their behalf, ie receptionist, or nurses, they are also under pressure and deserve to be given support by the doctors. That’s it rant over, please remember that patients are human too!

    I had an appointment at this surgery to remove my stitches from a recent knee operation. The staff were very friendly and accommodating as i was on crutches and i was seen to on time for my appointment. The nurse was very helpful and i was put to ease that the experience would be very quick and painless, which it was. The appointment took no more than 5 minutes and i was made sure i was happy with everything they had done before leaving the surgery. I can’t fault the surgery one bit.
