After another busy work day I went to email my doctor concerning a small matter and to find that email is denied on this site. Why would you deny patients the opportunity to email? I quite understand the desire to reduce email traffic but for some aspects email is ideal; it would be better than turning up at the surgery and using receptionist time. I am not expecting an immediate reply, if it were urgent then I would contact by other means. Please explain.

Yet again inspite of a repeat prescription being put in with plenty of notice my elderly father in law has been left with out all the medication he requires. What has to happen for the repeat prescription to have all the necessary medications? It seems a mystery as it appears that more often than not the prescriptions appear to be made up at point of collection not when the request is put in and when items can be ordered in. Really I find it shocking as someone who uses repeat prescriptions at my own surgery I have never come across such an apparently clueless system. Please think of your elderly patients, many of whom cannot drive and are reliant on family members collecting when they can only to find things aren't there and they get upset and angry. Sort it out as it seems to be a recurring issue.

Your review: I recently had a burn on my hand which got infected. As I was away in Surrey I visited a pharmacy for advice. They insisted that it needed urgent treatment. I went to one of their local doctors who refused to see me as a temporary patient and advised me to visit a&e. So, I called Staithe surgery and they couldn’t have been more helpful. The receptionist was excellent as was doctor. He sent a prescription to the local pharmacy where I was staying and the infection in my hand has gone. Just wanted to say how much I valued their help.

Thankyou to all reception staff, dispensers, Doctors, practice nurses, & managers. Having had a very difficult year, I have found staff to be supportive & efficient, with GP call backs to update me on next steps very reassuring. The past two years have been very difficult with COVID & I have always found the practice to remain focused on meeting patients needs & I have always observed doctors and nursing staff have demonstrated consistently that they really do care & have you, the patients interests at heart. Huge thank you to everyone there- especially working in such difficult times. I will bring in some more chocolates soon 😊💐
