  1. Review titled Warning Letter About Missed Appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by PAUL GREGORY - Posted on 20 September 2023

Today received a formal warning letter - "Keep it or cancel it!" Wording is aggressive, advising if I miss any appointments - I will be taken off the practice list! I have never missed an appointment, ever (be lucky to get one recently) - the note is a complete joke and not fact-checked in any way. You can't put a complaint on the website - they make it as difficult as can be to take issue with the poor service - takes hours to get through on the phone, if this was a private business would have gone bust years ago - they talk about standards, but do not hold themselves to any of standards their own. Turn up for an appointment a few minutes late, you would be shown out the surgery - yet when you turn up for your appointment a 40-minute wait could be the norm - they do not hold themselves to the standards expected of patients! I understand that missed appointments are an issue, I have no issue with a gentle reminder to first-time offenders, but the wording in this letter is aggressive and offensive - made worse by the fact I have never missed an appointment - how can they get medical letters so wrong? As a diabetic, asthmatic and recently diagnosed cancer patient - I completely understand the value of appointments and letters like this just add stress and anxiety to my mental health - as if I don't have enough going on at the moment ... they need to get their facts straight and fact check these letters before they are sent out - very poor service, and what a waste of money (paper, ink, time and postage) - no wonder the NHS is on its knees with this kind of waste happening - poor poor service! Totally irritated by this poor patient service!!

Used NHS connect. Got a telephone consultation same day. Which led to a face to face appointment with a GP the same day. 10/10

  4. Review titled Disappointed service from receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have had to call this practice a number of times ref my 90 year old father trying to get appointments Been on the phone from 8am in a morning and been 29th in the queue and waiting more than 30mins only to he told point blank no available appointments, this has happen at least 4 times in the last few weeks I have questioned how when 29th in the queue when lines open there is no appointments left surely they have more than 29 appointments per day only to be told "no we dont" call 111 which I have each time and managed to get my father a telephone call with a GP. I would advise anyone to call 111 first as you will only be wasting your time talking to the receptionists at this practice.

  5. Review titled Unacceptable

Rated 1 star out of 5

by ioana roxana paraschiv - Posted on 17 November 2022

My 4year old developed an extreme cough and my thought today was to visit the gp for further advice as a last resort because I already tried at home everything possible. I tried to follow the procedure and ring for the appointment as soon as they open. So at 7:57 my phone call was rejected by an automatic robot saying the service is not available yet but somehow at 8:00 I was number 30 in the queue. How it`s possible in 1 minute to have over 30 phone calls...what smart technology they`re using? Anyway after 40+ minutes waiting in the phone queue someone answered and simply said it`s fully booked. Again what`s their capacity? I have to mention is not a village gp with maybe 50 patients...it`s a town gp... Also what got me even more angry is the person who picked up the phone...She didn`t even listen what i got to say...she rushed to put the phone down saying it`s nothing available. I managed to say it`s for my 4years old and after the situation changed a bit and she said to call 111. Totally unprofessional and useless...every single time I was welcomed with "ring tomorrow darling"...the doctors checked on google in front of me (i can to this at home what`s the point to go there). You can`t even put a complaint on their website, you have to go in person. So they can`t see the patients with emergencies but they ask you to go in person for a complaint. I tried to change my name, I took all the documents with me and filled the form there they said to me by the end of the week is done...guess what? after 3 months they rang me to go back and give them a copy of my passport. If anyone can avoid this GP practice i totally say to do it especially if you have kids because they don`t have a clue what they`re doing but their attitude is over the roof.

  6. Review titled Rare to get an appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Phillip byrne - Posted on 03 June 2023

The care with the doctors and nurses can be very good, if your able to get an appointment. Most of the time when calling to try and get it an appointment. You're told that none are available even though you call at 8:00 a.m. and then get stuck in a waiting queue, to be told that sadly there is no more appointments for that day. So you ask can you book an appointment for another day and you're told? Sadly no. You need to call back again the next day at 8:00 a.m. to try your luck. The website advertises that you can book online appointments, but when using the service they recommend, it states that you can't book online appointments. Sadly, due to the unreliability of this practice anytimes I've urgently felt like I've had to be checked all my children have. We've had to rely on the doctor services at Walsall hospital which puts on fair stress on them. This didn't seem to be much of a problem prior to covid with getting appointments but has dramatically increased since covet even though nowadays were told to carry on as covid not being a major health concern. Due to not many doctors around the area, my assumption is that this location has dramatically more patience than it's staff can handle and potentially may need an increase in doctors and nurses to get on top of this. Due to the unreliability of being able to get an appointment it is resulted in not bothering to call half the time now unless you'll really in a lot of discomfort or pain to try and see someone.
