Review titled Amazing nurse
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by K Swann - Posted on 15 May 2025
Myself, my husband and our son have have been at the surgery this morning - booked for travel vacs). The nurse was amazing with all of us, so helpful and so patient explaining everything clearly to us, she is a diamond :) Also she is very skilled, as we barely felt the injections going in. I know you all guys work extremely hard, and doing a great work, and thank you for that, but just wanted to point out how satisfied we were all today, it was a pleasure

Review titled Absolutely shocking.

Having moved to the area back in August 2024 I still haven’t managed to get a doctors appointment, get told to call back later and when we do they cut you off, been in to speak with the receptionist who was so rude after being asked how I go about getting a appointment to see or a phone call with a doctor. What’s the point having a doctors that you can’t even get an appointment. Need a medication review but can’t even get to do that!! What a shocking service from St Luke’s. If I could go back to my previous doctor I would in a heartbeat.

Thank you for sharing your experience, I am sorry to hear of the difficulties you have encountered in trying to make an appointment. I would like to investigate this further for you, if you could send me an email to northantsicb.complaints.stlukes@nhs.net this will allow me the opportunity to support with booking you a medication review and address the issues you have experienced. We are aware of the difficulties patients face in securing appointments and we are looking at ways to improve this, we have already taken steps to improve access but we know we need to do more, this is an ongoing project and we hope that over the coming months we will be able to implement the right solutions to support our patients. We do take all feedback very seriously and welcome the opportunity to resolve any issues or poor experience. Charlotte Wilson Practice Business Manager

Review titled Livi online GP Service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Jeff Jones - Posted on 28 May 2025
It's a great pity that the Livi online GP Service has been ceased thus compounding the problem of trying to get a GP appointment at St Lukes. The Livi service provided such a useful option and when it was first made available it was possible to get a 'same day' appointment, this became more difficult as more and more people used the service but it was normally possible to get an appointment with a GP within two days if you logged onto the service early. My skin cancer was acted upon reasonable quickly after a Livi GP saw the photos plus the online consultation, similarly with a wound infection. Apparently the Livi online service has been replaced by an 'out of hours' GP service but, and it's a big 'but', in order to use the service you have to make an appointment first with the St Lukes practice. I appreciate that there's a shortage of GP's and that there are budgetary pressures, but the cessation of the Livi service makes no sense to me given the difficulties that all those registered at St Lukes are experiencing. The appointments situation is further frustrated by the fact that an appointment is required to get a Hearing Test. Self referral is available in many other parts of the UK!

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. Out of hours services including Livi are provided by the General Practice Alliance and are not commissioned by St Luke's Primary Care Centre. The decision to end the contract with Livi and provide local online support was made by the General Practice Alliance and not by the practice. I do understand the disappointment all patients have experienced at the loss of Livi, I would advise you to contact the General Practice Alliance (https://www.northantsgpalliance.com) to provide feedback and raise any concerns. Thank you Charlotte Wilson Practice Business Manager

Review titled Worst practice I've ever been with
Rated 1 star out of 5
by David - Posted on 28 May 2025
This surgery is useless, you can never get an appointment, they tell you to call at 8 am but then you cannot get through because it says all their lines are engaged and hangs up on you. They have cancelled my repeat prescription for asthma medication without telling me. I only noticed when I tried to order it. I tried to call them and email them about this and I haven't been able to get through on the phone. They replied to my email basically saying I need to phone at 8am to make an appointment to discuss my prescription which I have tried to do every day since receiving the email and can never get through.

Review titled Appalling

It’s impossible to actually speak to anyone, let alone get an appointment. For two weeks I have been trying to call for an appointment or at the very least speak to someone, every time I called, the automated system told me the “care management team “ were too busy and cut me off. I’ve called a total of 97 times to no avail. Being disabled, I’m physically unable to go to the practice to speak to someone. How an earth is anyone able to speak to someone??? Let alone get an appointment??? The online system won’t even let me in as my details have clearly been input incorrectly. Not a reassuring or good start as a new patient who is unwell and vulnerable.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I’m sorry to hear you’ve been having trouble reaching the practice to arrange an appointment. When you hear the message “our call queue is at capacity,” it means the number of people in the queue has reached its maximum. We set this limit to ensure we can assist everyone waiting for an appointment in a timely manner. We’ve noticed that call volumes tend to decrease slightly after 8:00 AM. If you’re able to, you might have better luck calling shortly after the lines open. If you need assistance with online access, please feel free to call the practice and press option 6 for administration. Alternatively, you can email us your name and date of birth at nccg.contact.stlukesduston@nhs.net, and we’d be happy to support you further. Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to helping you. Charlotte Wilson Practice Business Manager

Review titled Fantastic clinician
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had the pleasure of taking my 2-year-old son to see someone on 7th February, and I can confidently say it was the best experience we've ever had at a GP appointment with my son. Not only was the person we saw highly efficient, knowledgeable, and thorough with the physical assessments, but what truly stood out was his incredible compassion and patience with my son. My little one is typically anxious about doctor visits, especially with all the physical checks involved. However, he immediately recognised his fear and approached him with such kindness and understanding. His gentle and empathetic approach made a world of difference. I honestly believe that if more doctors adopted his approach, children would feel much more at ease during their GP visits. I’m beyond grateful for the care and attention my son received and couldn’t recommend him enough for anyone looking for a doctor who truly understands the needs of children. It’s important that this person is truly appreciated at the clinic, as he is not only highly skilled but also incredibly compassionate. He is, without a doubt, someone who genuinely understands and cares for children, and such qualities should be recognised and celebrated. Warmest regards, S and her son, who walked out feeling happy and confident, and I’m sure will be much less anxious about future GP visits.

Review titled Unable to contact
Rated 1 star out of 5

We have yesterday tried to contact the surgery again It is almost impossible to contact the surgery by phone and talk to a human, it has been like this for along period of time. You can try all day and get know where, a review of this terrible situation should be done and action taken by the relevant authorities to put this right. People’s health is suffering because of this situation. This is now an urgent situation requiring urgent intervention by those in office.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am sorry that you had a difficult experience trying to contact the practice. We are exploring different ways to manage the demand on the practice to allow better access for patients. We would recommend using the E-Consult form available on our website or trying to contact the practice outside of the busier 8am and 2pm call times particular if you do not require urgent same day support. Kind regards Charlotte Wilson Practice Business Manager

Review titled Wonderful Care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Natasha W - Posted on 07 February 2025
I just wanted to inform you about the exceptional service I had from a member of your reception team a few weeks ago. I rang and asked if MRSA swabs could be done prior to my daughters surgery at Addenbrookes to save us the 4hr round trip. After asking staff she said this wouldn’t be possible. But within minutes rang me back and said she’d spoken to another member of staff and it actually was possible. She was so lovely, kind and apologetic about it. And I really felt she went above and beyond for us. I hope you can pass on my thanks and she is recognised for the considerate care she gave. I also saw a lovely nurse on Tuesday. I didn’t catch her name but had a daisy award badge. She had such a warm nature, and was informative and compassionate. So many thanks to her too. In all, the care we’ve received at the surgery over the past few weeks has been wonderful. So thank you!

I can't get an appointment by any means! Went to the reception, they told me to call. I called them, they are never available! When I finally got through a human being, they told me to call again at a different time. This is unacceptable! People need doctors!!!!!

Review titled Great Nurse
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 19 December 2024
I saw a senior nurse practitioner, this morning regarding an ongoing sinus problem. She was brilliant! It's lovely to talk to someone who really knows what they're talking about, and not only diagnose the problem, prescribe the necessary medication but make contingency plans in case the problem should return. She didn't treat me as a child, patronise me or speak condescendingly (as I have experienced with another member of your medical team). She explained things clearly, was interested in what I had to say and was empathetic. I should have contacted you last year to sing her praises when she sorted out a problem I had on one of my fingers. (This had been previously misdiagnosed by another team member) She just took one look at my finger and immediately made the correct diagnosis and gave me good advice on the way forward. Anyway when I got home today I realised we're all too quick to put our complaints in writing, so I thought it's about time I said thanks when someone does a really good job. Happy Christmas to all your hard working staff and best wishes for 2025.
