    I had my cervical screening appointment today and the nurse was amazing. She was kind, knowledgeable and made me feel totally at ease. I was really nervous and she didn't make me feel rushed and the appointment was much better than previous experiences at other practices!

    Very caring and supportive GP that genuinely seems to care for her patients . Takes time during appointments, doesn’t rush you out the door even though you’ve potentially over run. Continues to follow up and care. Simple yet effective. Would be of huge benefit to be able to request the same GP when you call to book an appointment .

However, as we offer a same-day GP appointment line to ensure timely care, it can be difficult to guarantee specific doctors due to availability.     I switched to this surgery after frustration with previous doctors and impossible appointment system. St Heliers are amazing, I can not praise and thank them enough. Clear and simple system - yes you have to wait a bit on the phone but you will be spoken to by a doctor and if needed seen that day. Follow ups and communication/call backs then happen so you know what is going on. I have only experienced 100% polite and kindness from the whole staff team, from the reception team and nurses to all the doctors. Thank you St Heliers, you are amazing x x

    It is almost impossible to get an appointment with a doctor at this surgery. Phone lines are open only a few hours per day, at times when most people are at work, and the wait on hold is always at least 30 mins. You can’t even make an appointment in person at reception - they tell you that you have to call! I actually sat in the waiting room today on hold trying to make an appointment, a few metres from the reception. I am now changing surgeries as the service is awful.

To clarify, the phone line you are directed to is the GP appointment line, which is answered by a GP to assess your needs and determine the best course of action.     I called to book an appointment for my daughter at 11.30 in the morning, already missed two days off school. Receptionist aware of this. I was advised to call back again in the afternoon, did not state what time. I called at 16.31, on hold for 3 mins to be told to call back the following day as its outside of hours. Appalling service.

    I was 14th in the queue but waited for my turn. Explained that I was asked to return after 2 months to see how treatment was working only to be put through to clinical support. On hold for one hour before I was cut off. This is appalling service. Phoned again in the afternoon and was on hold to clinical support for 50 min. Gave up and will look for another surgery.

We understand how stressful it can be to wait on hold for such long periods, especially when you're trying to follow up on your treatment. To clarify, the clinical support line is our GP appointment line, where you speak with a GP during a telephone appointment to discuss your concerns or treatment. We regret that your call was cut off and that you had to wait so long to speak with someone. This is certainly not the level of service we aim to provide.     I contacted this practice about seeing a certain Dr, and was told I’m not allowed to pick who I want to see, and now trying to get an appointment on line (as they keep suggesting) well there are no appointments for the next minimal 16 weeks!! How pathetic with any of the doctors suggested!! And as I can’t use my phone at work during the times that they want you to call I’m not able to book an appointment but the staff that sit at the desk who just natter to one another when phones are ringing and haven’t got any manners at all.

    I have been asked to ring my Doctor to discuss my medication before I can get it on repeat. Have now rang 3 times, get put through to the clinical team and my call is never answered, the shortest time I hung on for was 42 mins, the longest 53 mins. I will try once more then will go to the surgery and wait in there until I get to speak to a Doctor, even if I have to sit there until midnight or longer. The conversation will be very short so this is now ridiculous and so annoying.
