  1. Review titled Can not get any basic medical treatment

Rated 1 star out of 5

Phoned this practice and spoke to reception who got a doctor to phone me back about a home visit for my dad who is housebound. Unfortunately, I couldn't be available on the Tuesday the doctor suggested, so she said that she would phone me back with a home visit appointment, this was last Thursday, it is now Wednesday afternoon and no doctor visit or update from the practice, so I've had to phone them back, sit on hold and they wanted to send a paramedic out not a GP. Now I have to wait for them to phone me back sometime today. Will a GP come out and see my dad, who knows? You can not even get basic medical treatment from this surgery there taking more and more patients on their books but current patients on their books can not get basic medical treatment or care

  2. Review titled Family can not get basic medical care from this surgery

I have not had a smear test in over 5 years and the last time I went to the surgery to get a smear test one of the receptionists got aggressive with me and told me to leave. I contacted the Practice Manager and she could not care less. My brother and I have not had an asthma check-up in over a year. My dad's doctor does not want to help him because he is housebound she just wants him to be sent back to the hospital so she does not have to deal with him. She said she was going to look at my dad's CT scans and MRI scans he had at the hospital but did not bother. We asked if he could go back on medication for high cholesterol and again she did not bother. He is on medication that needs monitoring and no one has checked up on my dad. My mum was put on medication and not monitored at all after about 3 years she started passing out after taking this medication so we stopped the medication. The St George's Medical Practice does not even supply basic medical treatment or care as a patient, they will not listen. It's either their way or the highway.

Dear Patient Thank you for taking the time to post a review, invites for smear tests are not sent out by the practice, so please contact me so I can arrange a full investigation, I would also like to talk to you as I have not had a discussion with a patient with regards to a smear test and I would like to identify who you have spoken to and why they have not acted on your request. We are providing Asthma reviews and all your brother needs to do is call the surgery and book an appointment for a review, we do not routinely send out invites for annual reviews it is the responsibility of the patient to book these. The practice has daily home visits available, and we do not discriminate against or treat housebound patients any differently. Once again if you provide me with the patient’s name, I can check to see if we have received the reports back from the hospital and carry out any appropriate actions and will investigate with the pharmacist if there were any clinical factors precluding the prescribing of a Statin. With regards to your mother’s medication, again if you contact me her name, I can review her consultations and frequency of these to establish any errors. Finally, with regards to your comment about monitoring, it is the patient’s responsibility to make follow up appointments with the appropriate clinician. I very much look forward to hearing from you either by email reception.rushbottomlane@nhs.net or by phone 01268 205034. Liz Adams Practice Manager Rushbottom Lane Surgery

Dear Patients Family member Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback on the surgery. My name is Liz and I am the practice manager at Rushbottom Lane, I'm sorry to hear that you have been disappointed by our acute visiting service, the emergency care practitioners employed to provide home visits are exceptionally skilled and highly qualified paramedics, who are qualified to deal with acute emergencies. I would be most grateful if you could contact me on 01268 882168 to discuss your experience, so I can understand the difficulties your family have faced and then I can speak to the GP partners to find suitable resolution for you.
