  1. Review titled Incredibly bad practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 April 2024

Dr sent me for urgent MRI scan, had this done results are back but no one is available to look at them. I am having great difficulty with my problem so I asked when the doctor would be able to look and was told maybe next week..... the doctor who sent me apparently is going to be off for quite a few weeks, but if I phone back on Friday when he will be there, I could ask him to check the results for me. One of the most confusing conversations I've had with a receptionist at this practice. What worries me, if there is something wrong that needs dealing with, the delay in getting someone to look at my scan could make a difference.

Hi Anonymous, If you give us some more information regarding this complaint I can investigate this further for you and listen to the call. All of our results are looked at daily and sent for clinical review regardless of which clinician sent you for the test. Any result that are sent tos us that urgently need dealing with are dealt with the same day by your clinician or the duty clinician for that day. If you would like to either call or email us with more information I would be happy to look into this further for you. Thanks

  2. Review titled Staff need urgent retraining

Rated 1 star out of 5

To be charitable I would say the reception staff and the prescription staff are not helpful and on occasions rude. Their job is to help not hinder patients. When mistakes are made by them to say sorry and correct them is not in their vocabulary. Dealing with vulnerable people needs understanding care!!

  3. Review titled Disgraceful service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 November 2023

Despite being no 2 in the queue on ringing, it took over an hour to get through. Trying to telephone for anything is a complete waste of time. Too many patients, not enough staff. Certainly not enough answering the phones

  4. Review titled The Practice has got from Bad to Worst.

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I have been with the Surgery for just over 59 years. Whenever I phone the Surgery to try and get an Appointment to see a certain Doctor I rarely get an appointment. I phoned yesterday to see if there would be an Appointment to see a certain Doctor today but was told to phone today. I phoned at 8.00am today was no 4 on the phone, I waited 26 minutes for someone to answer the phone only to be told that there were not any appointments for him today and that there were not any yesterday when I phoned up. I was told that he would be in on Friday but I asked if I could book an appointment today to see him on Friday but was told no that I have to book an Emergency Appointment on Friday.I don't know what System they are now using but it has certainly got from Bad to Worst.

  5. Review titled Doctor didn't ring!!

Rated 1 star out of 5

Your location St Edwards Medical Centre The surgery left a message on my dad's phone at the end of January asking us to fix a phone appointment for dad with one of the doctors, to discuss a letter they'd received. We therefore arranged a telephone appointment for 1st March, with a guide time for the GP to ring around 3pm. My sister and I rearranged our plans so that we could be with dad at the allotted time. At 3.50pm on 1st March my sister rang reception to ask when we might expect the call from the GP. She was told that the time given was only a guide, but that we were on the list of calls to be made. So we waited and waited... and were still waiting at 8pm when I left to get some shopping for dad. When I returned at 9pm, no call had come in. My sister and I double checked the list of incoming calls on dad’s phone again yesterday (2 March) and there were none received on 1st March from the surgery. My sister phoned them again today (3 March) to ask what happened and was told that the GP had rung dad’s number at 6.50pm on 1st March. We know that wasn’t so as no incoming call from them was on the call log. Moreover I was still at dad’s at that time sitting next to the phone and can say hand on heart from my own memory that there was no such call. Taking a charitable view of the situation, I would say that someone at the surgery is very much mistaken.... All in all, dreadful service from a surgery that really must do better. Luckily for us, this wasn’t an emergency...

  7. Review titled Horrible practice exceptionally rude reception staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 July 2022

Reception is extremely rude, called them asking for blood results and they said they have not arrived however i know they have arrived and they refused to help, refused to pass on messages to someone who can help or pass on messages to their supervisor. they said it can take up to 6 weeks to arrive. This isnt some special blood tests i had taken its a standard blood test which i know take up to 2 weeks. they then proceeded to say im going to hang up now as i cant help you the whole time shouting and speaking over me and speaking in such a patronising and condescending tone. literally 0 respect or dignity in the reception staff whole practice is a shambles was in there for an appointment the other day, they made me buy a mask to enter which was 5 pounds eventhough none of the staff were wearing masks themselves and walking around. Then one person was asking for a prescription at the reception and one of the staff started shouting at him and talking to him as if he was a child. how is this practice still up? im a university student and im back home in london for Summer and everytime i've called they say my records have been deactivated because i have moved away. First of all they should not be deactivated in the first place as london is my permenant address, how would i get medical attention if im in london do i have to travel 4 hours just to get seen by a doctor? after talking for 20 minutes and explaining how im a university student they finally said "we'll leave a note for next time". they did not. every single time i've called over the past 2 months i've had to sit on call for close to an hour to get through to someone and then another 30 minutes talking to incompetent staff incapable of understanding or helping patients explaining the same thing i have explained 5 or 6 times before just to get seen by a doctor for 5 minutes. This place is awful and needs restaffing.
