    I had painful symptoms ,tried to get an over the counter ‘remedy’ in town but was told by a pharmacist I needed to see my gp. I was advised by the helpful receptionist in southowram to call at the surgery early to get an appointment, she also said a sample would be needed which saved another trip. I saw the doctor at 9.40 the next day who prescribed meds for 3 days . These eased the symptoms but unfortunately did not clear the infection and the discomfort increased. I contacted the surgery again by phone and call back took almost 3hrs , however they arranged for another call back (2hrs) and another course of meds was prescribed and issued that day by the great team at southowram pharmacy . The infection seems to have cleared . I was dealt with sympathetically and although the wait for call back seemed lengthy because of the discomfort I have every confidence that the practise staff do the best they can . I’m also reassured to get a message that the samples were ok , I hear from friends that this is not always the case elsewhere. Thank you

    Dr is a very understanding doctor, he listens thoroughly to me before providing me with advice and care. I don’t feel rushed with him- he is thorough in his explanation and will always go over and beyond to provide me and am sure other patients too with the best care. What I really like about doctor is that he is very attentive and with me personally he took urgent action to refer me to relevant departments to help me get the diagnosis and the care I need. When I speak to him on follow ups he will remember exactly what was discussed previously and this clearly suggests he has a lot of care for his patients.

    I've taken my son to Springhall today 14.02.25 and on a few occasions over the past month with an ongoing health problem and the doctor we have been seeing is fantastic, the care, the attention has been amazing. My son has special needs and the doctors at Springhall know how to handle him and have looked after us immensely. Always good to know we can rely on the surgery for help when needed. Thank you Springhall you are amazing 👏 ❤️

    Thought it only right to take the time to say what fabulous service I received this morning at Siddal Surgery. The young lady on Reception was an absolute credit to the Surgery.Also the lovely Doctor nothing was too much trouble I left feeling that I’d received the best care possible.     After months of trying to sort out medication, I thought they have finally got it. After receiving lots of medication which I didn't need and they were informed, my daughter went up and sorted this out. Yesterday, I received medication which I had told them I didn't need every month as my consultant had changed my meds, this has cost the NHS hundreds of pounds. My daughter tried to call the surgery today and was in the queue for 40 minutes waiting to speak to someone. Since this surgery has consolidated with other surgeries, the service is terrible.

    I have steri strips and requested help with removal from hip replacement surgery.Reply through patches is we can get you an appointment on 20/3/25 find this unbelievable you might as well say we are not really interested in you or your problem.Granted it said on the message that I could go down to the hospital for them sorting.I guess the practice views these sort of things not really a priority so you can forget about it.A months waiting list to see a nurse to perform a simple task is absolutely ridiculous.Who is behind this ridiculous administration .It is bureaucracy gone mad.It undermines the medical ethics of the professional doctors when the admin are basically running things and running the practice as a business that is bent on sending people on to the hospital.

To clarify, our nursing appointments are typically booked up to four weeks in advance, and while we do our best to accommodate urgent wound care, finding a same-day appointment is not always possible as we are not an emergency service. Had you of contacted the surgery to book in advance when you initially had your surgery we may have been able to assist. We understand your frustration and appreciate your concerns.
