Trying to get through to this surgery is borderline impossible. What has this country come to when you cannot get to see a doctor?

Dear Anon, I am sorry to hear you have had problems getting through to the surgery. This will mean we have a lot of calls coming into the surgery today and ask that you keep trying. When it starts to calm down, rather than wait in the queueing system, you can ask for a callback. I really hope this helps solve the issue. Caron Tremaine-Tucker Managing Partner

Dear Mikee, Thank you for leaving feedback. I am sorry you are not happy with the service you received. All routine appointments must have been taken very quickly that morning, but there will have been urgent appointments available. If you requested an urgent appointment and was refused, please can you report it via our complaints procedure, so I can look into it further. Caron Tremaine-Tucker Managing Partner

  4. Review titled Can never get through to anyone

Rated 1 star out of 5

Call queue is always busy, and you can't even get a place in the queue. I can only assume that the doctors all working from home now as it's impossible to be seen by anyone now, or even speak to anyone, which is worrying when you have an ill child

Dear Anon, Thank you for your review. I would like to reassure you we are manning the phones, the surgery is extremely busy and we have had a significant increase in workload since the covid crisis. I would also like to reassure you the doctors continue to work from the surgery, as they have all through the crisis. As reassurance the system is changing from the 4th December 2023, we are moving to an e-consult triage model, this will prevent the long morning queues, which has always been a problem, we hope this makes it easier for you to use our service. With regards Caron Tremaine-Tucker Managing Partner

  5. Review titled Getting through

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by David Thatcher - Posted on 10 February 2023

I tried to ring the surgery at 8am to get a Doctor's phone appointment only to get a message (man) saying this call queue is full please try later? As I had rung at 8am and is normally tells yo that you are in a certain place in the Queue this was not happening. If this is the future well it's not working, and very frustrating

Dear Mr Thatcher, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you were unable to get through as soon as you called, this does indicate the volume of calls we receive each day. The practice has a queueing system, but if the queue is full there will be a message to ring back, this saves patients waiting on the phone for extended periods. Once you ring back and get onto the queue you will be given the option of a call back. With the number of calls we receive a day, which can be in the 1000's we find this is the best solution for our patients. Caron Tremaine-Tucker Managing Partner

  6. Review titled Left me high and dry.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Arranged Doctors call Doctor arranged prescription for pain killers to be picked up from lloyds, As I was at work all day Wife went down some 6 hours later to be told not available until Monday afternoon. I just managed to get reception on phone ,They gave me a code and said if I go to the small chemist on high Street, Give the code and pick up pain killers. I arrived at 19.30 (in a lot of pain) to be told the surgery had not released them so nothing could be given to me.Now have to wait until Monday afternoon as closed Saturday & Sunday. Have spent the whole of Friday night in agony, So much pain that I have not slept. Absolute let down and should not treat patients like this .

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for your feedback, and our apologies you were left in pain over the weekend, but unfortunately this was an issue with the pharmacy not with St Chads Surgery. The Surgery will have been unable to give you a code to pick up a prescription without it first being sent to the pharmacy, the pharmacy will have had this information in their system. We have heard sometimes there can be a delay in the prescription landing into their system, but this is not something St Chads will have been able to help with.
