  1. Review titled Very disappointed

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 December 2022

I visited out of hours at the weekend with a suspected wound infection. The receptionists refused to give me an appointment saying that my stitches did not look infected so to just go home. I told them I know they’re infected but they would not agree with me. The next day I seen my nurse who was shocked I was refused an appointment as not only was the wound infected it had also reopened and I needed antibiotics immediately. It’s a shame because I know the doctors here themselves are great.

Good afternoon, we were alarmed to read this review, we have two regular receptionists during the weekend sessions and neither of them would ever check a wound as they are not clinical, I would welcome contact from you to gain more information, please call Karen (practice manager) on 01529419101

  3. Review titled Superb and friendly care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

This month I had a cyst removed from the back of my head which the GP was able to undertake as a minor operation in the surgery. The minor operation went well and made so comfortable by the GP and nurse, with great attention at all times to make sure I was okay, as I was very nervous about this procedure. Given clear instructions on after care. When making appointment for removal of stitches, the receptionist was really welcoming and soon arranged a convenient time. Returned today for removal of stitches and this was preformed by the same nurse. She again put a total ease and hardly felt anything, which again was excellent as I get quite nervous. The care I received was first class and can highly recommend this surgery. Thank you to everyone involved in my care from one very grateful patient.

Dear Wayne Musson, Thank you for your feedback, we were sorry to read that you had problems accessing the practice back in October. Since this time we have made significant changes to our askmyGP system, leaving it open for longer and creating forms specific to patient requests. As a result of the system changes, our phone line answering times have improved. We continue to review practice processes where patients advise us they have had difficulties, so we appreciate you leaving your feedback on this matter. Kind Regards, Sleaford Medical Group

  5. Review titled Disgraceful service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Jake Hardstaff - Posted on 04 August 2022

I phoned the surgery yesterday afternoon to book an appointment due to having heart palpitations and other symptoms concerning my heart. The response was to phone back tomorrow due to them not accepting any future appointments. I then phoned back this morning at 8am (the earliest you can call the surgery) to arrange an on-the-day appointment. AskMyGP was unavailable as it always is. I told the receptionist that I had been told to make this appointment and she, instead, informed me that a doctor would give me a call-back at some point today. I therefore waited at home all day for this call for nothing to happen. I called them back at 5pm to chase the phone call up and was told that I was on the list and could expect a call by the time the surgery closed at 8:30pm. I'm not sure how I could be so far down the list after I was one of the first to phone them this morning and I am sure that more than one doctor works at Sleaford. I continued to wait for this call but it never came. This concerns my heart; I would imagine this should be prioritised due to it being a fairly serious issue. I am disgusted by the level of service I have received from Sleaford Medical Group and this is certainly not the first time I have been let down by this centre and am very much looking forward to changing practices.

  6. Review titled Mental health-not helpful comunication.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 August 2022

I tried booking an appointment through askmygp as advice. I spoke to a lady who said I could only request an appointment for for that day or they could offer me 3 different dates at the same time (9am) as that's all they were aloud to offer me. I'm a single parent with two children with extreem mental heath issues. I tried to explain that I can't do 9am as its school time and I carnt do same day appointments as I have to emotionally prepare myself to be able to leave the house and struggle speaking to people on the phone (which is one of the reasons I was happy when i realised I could request appointments online) and that actually I was really struggling speaking to the lady I was on the phone to at that time. She then told me she was putting me through to her manager because I'd apparently said I didn't want to talk to her and she wasn't being helpful. I tried explaining that that is not what I was saying, that I was saying I struggle emotionally speaking to anyone on the one so speaking to someone on the phone and then having maybe minute to prepare and leave my house to get to an appointment was not something I could emotionally cope with. She transferred me anyway. Her manager then went over everything again (by this point I was shaking and extremely panicy). She then questioned weather I had anyone to look after my children/take them to school and suggested childminders, family or friend. I said I had no one childcare wise. She then tried offering me weekends when I'd already said i had no child care and had requested during school times because it couldn't be discussed around my children (issues with my vagin caused by childhood sexual abuse). She did then offer me an appointment at a time and day I could get to however said that she could over ride the system this once but as I am a one of case it wasn't something they were generally aloud to do. That they have to go with the normal census. I then said that no single parent would be able to get to the times they are aloud to give out (9am) and that actually alot of people struggle communicating on the phone and have anxiety issues, that I didn't appreciate that nothing was put in place for people like myself and that I personally think the first lady I'd spoken to was rather rude for someone who should have shown an understanding for mental health needs (in the same was as they show consideration for people with other kids of disabilities). She continued to state that they have to go with the norm and that her colleague had tried everything she could and that id got my appointment hadnt i. I asked how to complain and put the phone down. I then had an anxiety attack that lasted 20 minutes (while trying to look after two children). I have then spent the rest of the day so far numb and dissociation. I don't appreciate being made to feel liken an anomaly and an inconvenience. It makes me want to apologise for having mental health and that's not how contacting your doctors should make you feel.

Good morning, I am very sorry that you have felt the need to leave this review rather than calling and asking to speak to the manager, we are an extremely responsive practice with the majority of our appointments being booked on the same day. we open up our online portal at 0730 this was so that parents and working people have time to put in their requests before school run/work. I would be happy to book you an appointment a little way ahead so that you could prepare for the appointment, please contact me on 01529 419101.

  7. Review titled Poor booking system

Rated 1 star out of 5

by davy double - Posted on 11 August 2022

I went on line 10.08.22 and found all appointments had been taken I then found opening time had been changed to 07.30 also the G.P. appointment times had been changed 4 hours in morning each weekday I have been in waiting room twice recently and there is no notification of change of hours how do they expect patients to to be happy they always say it is matters beyond there control, just a truthful explanation would go a long way but that seems to be beyond them.I also went online on 11.08.22 to try booking an appointment again only to be faced with no appointments at all unless they are serious with no explanation what serious, is by now I was pretty always the same no truthful explanation or one that says just why it's happening for now i am giving up and try again next week.

my repeat prescription was finaly aranged to all be on the same date for collection sadly this was not done when i spoke to the person at Dispensary she was very rude telling me the rest of my prescription including one of morphine was sent to boots but the morphin patches were not sent as thay had a different date on them even though the other items had the same date so for a month i have not been able to use the morphine patches it now comes to the 8th 2022 if my patches this time are sent is it safe to re start them and since when did some one at Dispensary can make a decision on what medication some one should be taking specialy if it is a controled drug like morphine every time i try to make any complaint at smg the staff and even the practice manager seem to be quite rude contacting a doctor is impossible even if that doctor sends a msg to contact them directly the practice manager opens the letter and tells you to stop jumping the queue lets face it smg needs some kind of re structure

Good Morning, I'm sorry that you have felt the need to leave this review, I (practice manager) would have appreciated the chance to talk to you before, to see if I could sort out any issues, I certainly do not just open letters and tell patients to stop trying to jump the queue? I'm not sure where this information has come from. Please contact the practice and I would be happy to discuss any problems you are having and would hope to find some solutions.

  9. Review titled Walk in centre excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Chris B - Posted on 31 July 2022

The staff (both receptionists and doctor) were extremely helpful and friendly. The environment was very pleasant. I didn't have to wait long until I saw the doctor and this avoided me having to goto A & E.
