Review titled Difficult to access.
Rated 1 star out of 5

Rude unhelpful receptionist who thinks it’s ok to give unsolicited advice on medical issues which would be dangerous if I didn’t know my conditions better. I dread calling the surgery because of one receptionist who is well-known by every other patient of School Lane Surgery that I’ve spoken to. There is even a ‘discussion’ on the local Fb forum on the problems at Sl but it has a section dedicated to patient’s experiences with this receptionist. Many times even though I really need to speak to a Gp lor need advice amongst other things I cannot bring myself to call because I don’t want to talk to this particular receptionist. As mentioned I’m not alone in this. It’s frustrating not being able to make an appointment for a more routine appointment even though I try weekly online on Tuesdays like told but there’s never anything available. Also there is only one phone number for everyone, medical staff and patients alike which is so frustrating if you just need to leave a message or information on an answer machine eg: like when needing to contact the pharmacists. You have to speak to a receptionist which as mention fills me with extreme anxiety in case I get that one receptionist. To try to access help for other services required the main advice given is look it up yourself. I often feel that I’m an inconvenience when I call which is a sentiment echoed by many. I don’t have much confidence in the surgery now and the thought of having to talk to the worst person to be the first contact at a Gp surgery is far from ideal. Unhelpful is not a strong enough word for the general experience. One good point is they have hired new medical staff at last.

Review titled Disappointed
Rated 2 stars out of 5

I visited the surgery to book an appointment and change my personal details. You cannot do either in person. Rang today to try and book a sameday appointment, no appointments available. Ring back tomorrow. Tried to change my personal details on line and now have to go back to the surgery with proof of my new address. Very disappointing. Doctor surgeries seem to be run for the benefit of the surgery and not for the benefit of its customers who are sick.

I had cause to visit the surgery recently. The receptionist was kind and helpful as was the Dr. My concerns were addressed promptly and in a professional way. Thank you all
