  1. Review titled Very poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 May 2023

The service is terrible. I waited an hour on the phone today to chase up a repeat HRT prescription, and was told that I need a blood pressure test and appointment for each repeat prescription. I have not been told this before and have had repeat prescriptions of the HRT without this. The reception staff member I spoke to was unhelpful and replied 'well, I don't know' to my questions about this. I asked if every patient on HRT had monthly doctor appointments as this seemed unlikely, the reply 'I don't know'. Patients risk being left without medication because of this poor communication. If I had known this I would have booked an appointment in advance. The surgery also says it does not take blood pressure measurements, so it makes no sense that patients are required to have one for each new prescription if they can't get this! I asked about how to get one and was told you can 'do them at home'. The information is utterly confusing and chaotic and as far as I can see, there is no way to clarify what patients should do. Writing here as there's no contact information for the practice manager on the website.

  2. Review titled The surgery appears to be in complete melt down.

Rated 1 star out of 5

This is day 3 of being unable to contact the surgery. There is just a recording saying first there's new staff and ordering callers to be patient, then a threat to call the police if callers become impatient or "abusive" and then finally we are told that the surgery is experiencing "staffing issues". Callers are told to call another day if their call is not "urgent" or to try 111 if it is. Then the surgery just hangs up. At least I'll just run out of medication and become ill. Other patients may be in far greater danger. The surgery has already been ruled inadequate by the cqc so I suppose there's no real surprise. There is absolutely no point raising any of this with the surgery itself as its staff are routinely defensive - to the point of becoming agressive themselves.

Thank you for your comment. We are very sorry for any inconvenience and understand the frustration this may cause, our staff are working extremely hard to make sure we can continue to offer high-quality services to patients in the long term. Allied Medical Practice is undergoing a change of contract which will ensure both of our surgeries can continue to deliver high-quality care to patients. We are currently unable to provide appointments at the surgery until our new registration is processed. Please contact 111 if you require urgent medication or Brighton Station Walk-in-Service. Please support our staff and be kind as we work to help you. Unfortunately, as you have not provided any details I’m unable to make any comments or contact you to discuss this further. If you are not satisfied with the response to your complaint you can ask the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman to review your case. The Ombudsman's role is to consider complaints that government departments, a range of other public bodies in the UK, and the NHS in England, have not acted properly or fairly or have provided a poor service. 3. Review titled What is happening?

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Been trying for three days to contact this surgery. Message says they are having work force problems. No idea how I am going to get my prescription and consultation before this is issued. As a carer, I won't be able to get down to the surgery until next week which will be too late. This surgery are obviously having major problems. Probably best looking for another practice as I can't see them lasting much longer. Talk about leaving patients in the lurch?
