  1. Review titled OAP's excluded

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 June 2025

My parents are in their 80's, my father has dementia and my mother is caring for him and has never used a computer. My father needs to see a doctor but when my mother asked the receptionist for an appointment (she was in the practice at the time) she was told to go and complete the e-consult. My mother explained that she didn't know how to do this but was just given a leaflet. My mother has enough to deal with caring for my father and just wanted to make a doctor's appointment for him. It clearly states on the government website that e-consult is meant to 'free up the telephones for those who really need them'. I consider this refers to people such as my parents who are now excluded from the right to see a GP because they don't have access to technology. Also on the Saxonbury website the forms to use to make a complaint have been withdrawn and there is no means of emailing them. I have no choice but to complain to the local MP and media.

  2. Review titled Large caring practice

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by Sue W - Posted on 05 June 2025

Today I used the e-consult software system to request an appointment which is used as a triage system for this extremely busy practice; this is my only area of concern as it’s the only method of booking an appointment, but as they have only recently transferred to the system back in March’25 I am sure the hard working practice manager will be working on improving the process. I have found the Centre itself to be extremely clean and well organised. The GP was extremely caring, professional, and knowledgeable and obviously cared deeply about the care she was able to provide. The Reception team were dealing with queries very sympathetically, yet professionally. My experience today was perfect.

  3. Review titled Now almost impossible to see a doctor at Saxonbury?

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 April 2025

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my deep frustration with your e-consult system, which is failing patients in urgent need of care. I suffer from a knee condition that is causing me considerable pain. Upon completing the e-consult form, I was advised to call the practice at 01892 603131. Following this guidance, my wife contacted the practice, only to be informed that no further e-consult appointments were available and that our only option was to go to A&E. At my age, I am reluctant to add to the strain on emergency services and endure long waits for an issue that is neither an accident nor a medical emergency—I simply need to see a doctor to determine whether my symptoms indicate the onset of arthritis. The e-consult response also suggested calling 111, which we did via their online service. Their recommendation? Contact the surgery as soon as possible today. Yet, this highlights a serious issue: Saxonbury now seems unable to book doctor appointments over the phone, making it increasingly difficult—if not impossible—for patients to access the care they need. I urge Saxonbury to address this concerning lack of local patient care. I await your prompt response. Yours sincerely, Anthony Ellis

  4. Review titled Brilliant practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Emily - Posted on 20 March 2025

I feel so lucky to be a patient under Saxonbury House. I visited today and had a great experience. The check in process was seamless, waiting room very comfortable and staff as always were lovely, helpful and polite. Special mention to my GP, who always goes above and beyond - I’m so thankful. I found out today that they are rolling out E-Consult for all appointments which I really like to use. It will mean a fairer dissemination of appointments and that a GP will be able to view my concerns. Thank you to all the staff for their continual hard work and dedication, it’s hugely appreciated.

  5. Review titled Non efficient Receptionists

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 February 2025

After 2 days of trying to See a doctor,I phoned up and was told there will be no appointments given over the phone anymore and to do it on line.Today I looked on line and found nothing,so Went directly to Surgery only to find a rude unhelpful receptionist. If receptionists talk to patients without respect, they will not get respect back.Needless to say, as she couldn’t help me I decided to leave saying I didn’t care anymore, fighting to see somebody when you have been in pain a few days, then there is no need keeping the surgery open. Dialling 111 helps nobody concerned. They need efficiency in the receptionist area and people who know what they are doing! until that happens, the problems there will not be solved.

  6. Review titled Can’t get an appointment…

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 June 2024

Can’t get through on phone at 8am, can’t book an appointment online and you won’t take bookings on anything but the same day - why?? Why is it not possible to book an appointment for the next few days or week ahead??? Receptionist was completely unhelpful pointing me only to the e consult process - which was an utter waste of time as doesn’t have anything remotely covering my issue. Receptionist frankly couldn’t have cared less, was completely unhelpful and couldn’t wait to just get me off the phone. Medical practitioners talk about early intervention and there is a chance my issue could be serious yet you make it ridiculously difficult to event access your service - that’s one of the things that leads to an overloaded NHS - people being seen too late - this has to be turned around. Terrible experience

  7. Review titled Rude receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 May 2024

Called to see if any appointments were available last minute, but upon explaining my issue was told it’s not an emergency and to call back. Have dealt with this receptionist before and again her demeanour and attitude are appalling, not to mention the fact S then put the phone down on me. I won’t mention her full name as I don’t want to embarrass her, as it seems I’m not the only person she was rude to!

  8. Review titled Discontent

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Chloe - Posted on 21 July 2024

The GP I spoke to didn't know the next dose-up of the very common SSRI I'm taking and as such I've spent 3 weeks on the wrong dose of medication because I was i*properly advised; I feel incredibly u*set that the healthcare provider I trusted didn't know the medication dose she recommended and that I didn't have the dosage of my current medication properly explained to me.

  9. Review titled Can't get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 May 2024

I am not sure how to get an appointment with this surgery. I completed the e-consult and nobody came back to me. I tried to call at 8am but they said they cannot answer as too busy and they do not let you book appointments at any other time. I have experienced a rude receptionist there too when I asked for a medical exemption form. Having to pay for private blood tests as can't get an appointment. Not a good service.
