  4. Review titled Appalling!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 31 July 2023

Diagnosed at 51 with ostio-arthritis by a receiving a hub appointment after trying to get to see or speak to Dr for over 6 months. Fab response from hub. Amazing... Got blood test next day and xray within a week... Last Year! Still awaiting to "see" a Dr. Managed 2 call appointments for pain relief and referrals. 1st referral still awaiting appointment, when chased call saying Next Summer 2024 to be seen. 2nd referral for more urgent queue rejected as medical centre didn't send covering details info just a tick form.. Now been in a&e at weekend ended up with Morphine to stem pain. Told go back to Dr for injection in hip. Next available appointment {actually managed to get via app} is in a week via telephone! Still awaiting phone back after over an hour from call. Again I know there will be No appointments available! What a Joke! How they are going inject via phone I don't know! And why should I have to wait a week for the phone call? Hospital found it amazing that we can not move doctors surgery and are stuck with the reported number one worst surgery in Northamptonshire. Things have drastically got to change at this surgery!!!

  5. Review titled Cannot get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 July 2023

Never ring the surgery unless needed. Rung at 8am, in queue of 20 callers, spoke to receptionist close to hour later. No face to face appointments left. After having a baby 7 days previously struggling and having a severe allergic reaction to anti-biotics with hives covering my body I was given a phone call appointment. No time given. On NHS app 3pm was the given time. Doctor rang at 5.20pm. Doctor was fantastic but said I needed an urgent prescription. My pharmacy closed at 5.30pm so agreed I couldn't get it. Had to ring 111 twice over the night who were more helpful. Very upset that I could not be seen when so close after having a baby including surgery (not c section). Struggled to look after my newborn and myself. I was given strong steroids despite not being seen or mental health support. I pretty much self-diagnosed and this was just accepted. Unsatisfactory.

  6. Review titled Feel let down by practice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 June 2023

Had recently been discharged from hospital and gp had been asked to monitor my kidney function. Attended appointment with practitioner who seemed to minimise my symptoms. When asked if I should have a blood test that day I was told no appointments left and come back next day. Later same day was sent by my oncologist to A&E and admitted to KGH.

  7. Review titled Surgery in Name Only

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 July 2023

I've tried in the past to transfer to other local GP surgeries but can't get accepted. Improved recently with call back service but that is just cosmetic. As others state it's still impossible to get an appointment. Where are the super busy GPs? Go in anytime the waiting room is empty! How many Doctors are there? The only redeeming feature are the Nursing Staff who are top rate. I'm not sure if they display outside the surgery what doctors are practising on any given day but perhaps they should! In 2023 people needing medical advice shouldn't have to diagnose their symptoms and self medicate.

  10. Review titled Appointments and phone calls

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 February 2023

I often see comments on Facebook from this GP surgery angry that people don't cancel appointments... my mum has just called as she requires a sick note (not that it matters but she is 65 and never has time off sick before people feel the need to judge in some way) and she was on the phone in a que of 30 people for 2 hours. As soon as the time went to 12 they said they aren't taking calls and hung up. No one can wait 2 hours to speak to a GP. No one can get through to book or cancel appointments. The trouble is that it's the same for almost every single GP surgery in our area. Now my mum will have to try again later or call another day wasting her time and money. It's just not good enough.

Dear Patient We now have a call back service for our patients which enables them to carry on with their day whilst retaining their place in the queuing system. This will help to alleviate the long waits to speak to a receptionist. Patients have been reluctant to use this service but I assure you that it works effectively and you will receive a call back from a receptionist when you become first in the queue.
