Must be the worst practice in the uk. Rude reception staff who take responsibility or offer any sort of help. Always short staffed. Cancels appointment same day then blames your mobile phone.

Dear patient. I am sorry you are unhappy with your recent encounter at Rudgwick Medical Centre. Unfortunately we had to cancel appointments with short notice yesterday as our pregnant member of staff had to urgently attend hospital. We did inform all our patients via SMS and our system confirmed these messages were sent. I am sorry if you did not receive this message. I do realise that gold standard would be to endeavour to phone all patients individually however due to the high number of incoming calls there was not capacity to do so. Along with many other practices, we do unfortunately have periods were we may be short staffed. This is due to booked leave and unforeseen sick leave. We are recruiting in order to address this problem but this can be challenging due to the complexity and stressful nature of the role. I am sorry you feel that the member of staff was rude. We do ask all staff to treat patients with politeness at all times. We do however also ask patients to treat our staff with courtesy and respect so that they can help you in the best way and resolve any issues. Again, we are sorry you have not been happy with your experience at Rudgwick Medical Centre. If you wish to discuss this further, please contact me. This surgery used to be great until one of the doctors left and it started going down hill and been using covid as a escape route I feel they have wanted it this way for a while but it's now easier for them to do it Where has all the patient privacy gone I can understand the phone lines being busy but come on

Dear Mr Drake. Thank you for raising your concerns and I am sorry you are unhappy with the service you have received from Rudgwick Medical Centre. Unfortunately demand for our services has escalated over the last few years and in order to ensure the most unwell patients receive help promptly we do need to take triage information to send to the clinical team for review. We do encourage patients not to do this in person in the surgery for confidentiality reasons but encourage patients to complete an e-consult, alternatively send an email or call us. 3. Review titled Poor Service for Chronic Condition

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 August 2022

Have been with this surgery for over 40 years. Has been fantastic until the last few years when quality of service has been steadily getting worse. Despite a chronic condition (resulting in some specialist care at a hospital) I have not seen a GP at the surgery for over 2 years despite requests and concerns about medication. Last request for an appointment just resulted in a text message saying to reduce my pill dosage. Not even a discussion over the phone. I am looking at options to move to a different surgery.

Dear patient. Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry you have not been happy with the service received from Rudgwick Medical Centre. Unfortunately we have had to review some of our processes over the previous few years in response to increased demand and limited capacity which means we do make greater use of alternative ways of communicating with patients such as electronically - eg SMS. We realise that this does not suit all patients but this has become necessary to ensure patients are managed in a timely manner. I note your comment is anonymous so please do contact me if you would like to discuss further. Susan Mckenzie, Practice Manager
