I visited the practice today with my children after picking them up from school and walking to the surgery as I do not drive, about a potential skin infection and was prescribed cream for ezcema. Then when I asked whilst I was there for my ‘controlled drug’ for my adhd medication to be accepted, I was told no as it’s a controlled drug you have to be running out as they have to order it in, which I understand however I am 10 days away from more, not even 2 weeks early and even after explaining why I needed them so I have them I was told in a abrupt and rude manner it wasn’t possible. I have been told by several members of staff on reception before and gps at this practice before that you can reorder up to 14 days early but even 10 days early it’s rejected. I request my repeat adhd medication once every month, I have done this for months. It isn’t just me suffering with this issue, and it is simply not acceptable. Something needs to be done about this, this is our lives you are messing with. There is a valid reason why they are on repeat prescription (especially by a pychiatrist) and to be honest usually the gps at this practice are very kind, helpful, understanding so I feel very upset and disappointed I had this experience.

I requested my repeat prescription a week ago and submitted a contact form yesterday to ask if this could please be approved asap as I’m due to run out of medication. I got no response so I called this morning to be met with a rude and abrupt receptionist who advised ‘we’re a week behind, we have no staff’. No apology, no care, nothing! This is not the first time I have had this issue and have often ended up extremely stressed having to get an emergency prescription via NHS 111. It is awful and borderline negligence in my opinion. Those of us who are on repeat prescriptions are on them for a reason and cannot just stop taking regular medication because our prescriptions have not been approved. It is dangerous and unacceptable. What is more unacceptable is the rude and abrupt manner of reception when you call to enquire about this - if you are unable to approve vital prescriptions then atleast apologise and show some compassion!!

The service I received from the Doctor was 10/10. To be shown compassion, empathy and advice when I needed it, is priceless. Having a follow up phone call was outstanding service. Thank you again!

Review titled Repeat prescription problems

I am always having problems with repeat prescriptions at this practice. They say you can reorder up to 14 days early but don't believe it as it gets rejected as too early. This time it took 7 days to get my latest repeat prescription approved. I am constantly running out and having to call 111 for an emergency prescription. I have previously talked to the practice manager about this clearly unacceptable situation but clearly nothing has changed. With around 18 repeat medications it's a nightmare and extremely dangerous

Recently the Dr's surgery lost my blood test as they did not capture me turning up to my appointment. Had to have a 10 minute conversation where the caller from the Dr's tried to gas light me that the blood test (which I was at, got them to print my form, took blood, they place the label on it, I commented on how good the person who took the test was), never took place. Took me a further 5 minutes to get them to go look for it, rather than trying to persuade me it never took place at all.

Having had a cough for 3 weeks, I completed the on-line form on Friday morning. Within an hour I received a phone call, and arranged an appointment for the same day. I saw a lovely advanced practitioner, who was welcoming and thorough. He prescribed some treatment. All in all, a great experience. Much better than waiting in a telephone queue. Thank you.

I have to arrange a follow up appointment after a course of treatment, and accept that this now involves filling in a triage form online. After a busy day the thought came to me to do it, and I find that the triage system is not operational until tomorrow morning when I will be at work / busy? Why on earth is this the case? Infuriating!

My appointment was for 10 15. Am. It took place at 7.34.A.m. What time of day is this to call people up and discuss their medications. I was still in bed. Ridiculous. I have 3 texts to remind me it was taking place at 10.15.

I have visited the surgery several times over the last few weeks on behalf of a close friend who is very ill .All the staff have been amazing and have done everything they possibly can to help. I was very unfortunate to witness a very rude and aggressive person at the reception yesterday the receptions staff were so professional calm and were a credit to the organisation. I have quite recently moved to this surgery I wasn't unhappy with my old surgery it was for convenience and location however it is amazing how more efficient this practice appears to be thank you.

Repeat prescription denied - I need this in the next few days. The response from the surgery is “we will allow you to speak to us in 6 weeks”. Refuse to call me despite repeated requests. They then send (passive) aggressive messages without opportunity to reply. Incompetence or just stupidity? Debating a formal complaint so this may be removed if I follow up on this.
