    After many consultations with different GP’s for an ongoing health issue finally spoke to a GP who spent the time to listen, ask questions & check my notes in detail. He then proceeded to explain how procedures work and most importantly reassured me. He then spotted a blood test that hadn’t been carried out and arranged for this to be done. Finally he gave me lots of advice whilst I wait for my referral to come through. I wish all GPs were as good!

    My first visit to a doctor at Birch Hill, Bracknell. Has restored my faith in the medical profession. Listened to my problem, and wants to help solve it. First time in 12 months I feel I am getting somewhere. Thank you

    Have Neurology problem opticians told me to get an urgent referral to a neurologist as I am losing my eye sight and need urgent att. Have to wait for over 2 weeks before I even get a phone consultant.

    Many thanks for this. And very sorry that you had problems making an appointment and the worry you have faced. As you may know already, the demand for appointments and medical advice is at an all time high nationally, along with workforce challenges and hence the shortage in appointments, either phone or face-to-face - we are not alone and all practices are facing tremendous pressures. It may be of interest to you that our practice offers nearly twice the number from the next highest locally, and yet we still are having difficulty in managing demand. To manage demand, we have recently commissioned a service whereby all appointment requests and advice request are via Klinik - an online service on our website whereby you can put in an enquiry or ask for medical advice including referrals. With this you will definitely get a response in a timely way as we action ALL Klinik forms daily, by a doctor. All requests are prioritized and if your action was urgent after triage you would definitely hear quickly from us. The feedback we have received so far from users of Klinik is over 85% positive with speed of action by the practice, and delivery of the advice requested - which includes making a face-to-face appointments to be seen by a health professional as well as booking of telephone consultations - both in a timely way. Mail received from external organizations are also actioned similarly but there is frequently a delay in receiving information. However, if in your case the optician asked you to contact us, then Klinik would have been the most efficient way in any case, saving you hanging on the phone etc. Again, apologies and hope you have had this managed as required and if not then please do follow the Klinik process and am certain will be processed appropriately.     My husband and I are new to the practice and have both needed to use the GP service. We have received prompt, practical and friendly advice from everyone, from the GPs, to the nurse, pharmacy staff and reception staff. As I have a complicated medical condition, the efficient and speedy response from this practice has been a great relief to me as a new patient.
