I am a patient of one of your drs who when I can get through for an appointment is great however I have tried over the last three weeks to get an appointment ( a call would do as I have actually met my dr on two years ) the system in virtually impossible to get past . I have stage 4 metastatic cancer and therefor have low immunity and have unfortunately had several viruses , this last one initially I was prescribed antibiotics but when the course was done I contracted what seemed like the same three days later … how do I get through this ridiculas system of booking an appointment ??

Review titled Office staff medical staff

Excellent service from all the team. So speedy and helpful. They couldn’t have been more friendly or obliging. They worked so hard to move at pace within a few hours as I was looking after my grandchildren and needed to get other grandparents to take over from the Midlands. Thank you to all!

Review titled New reception staff so much better
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Paul Blundell - Posted on 09 April 2025
The receptionist I spoke to wasn’t just very polite, very helpful, but most of all, me as a truck driver, she was very understanding. You try phoning dead on 8 o clock for an appointment when driving a 26 ton truck on the main roads with nowhere to pull over. Impossible. But to my amazement, this receptionist found me an appointment out of my working hours. There’s another problem is if you work your butt off, try finding time to see a doctor. I could carry on and on but I think you get the picture. I do hope that all the receptionist perform to a high standard than the one I had. I don’t wanna be sick but time will tell. Well done. ❤️👍

Review titled Above and beyond
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Zoe Nash - Posted on 02 April 2025
I have been with the surgery for nearly 2 years and in this time I have had a lot of medical issues going on and have required there assistance on far too many occasions, recently a procedure got cancelled at our hospital I was distressed and worried as I had no plan B I rang the surgery and within minutes they had arranged an appointment to speak with a Dr and we navigated the weekend this was then followed up with a call from my gp the following week and a plan was put in place until procedure was re booked. The kindness that every member of staff shows is unremarkable from the ladies that answer the phone to the nurses to the Drs who are overwhelmed with demands to the outstanding secretary’s. These last 12 months have been a minefield but Richmond Surgery have navigated with us which has been a massive comfort. No amount of words will ever be enough for all there support.

Review titled First Class Service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mark C Brett - Posted on 13 March 2025
I phoned Richmond Surgery on Monday, to organise a PSA test and was taken through the request form politely and efficiently. The Surgery called me back the same day to organise an appointment and I was able to been seen the next day. On day of giving the blood sample, the appointment was on time and the nurse was very courteous. Very good experience which I wanted to highlight.

Review titled When I needed help they were there.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Simon Weldon - Posted on 01 April 2025
When it's easy to 'have a go' at our stretched surgeries, I want to sing the praises of The Richmond Surgery. On Friday evening last week I was in severe pain. I rang the surgery around 5.45pm and a very sympathetic receptionist put me on hold, and then told me a doctor would call me back within an hour. After a telephone consultation during which the practice could see my hospital notes from earlier in the week (great technology) pain relief was prescribed and I was able to pick up my prescription before 9pm at the Wellbeing pharmacy on site. I needed help and I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you Richmond.

Review titled Fantastic, prompt, friendly practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mrs Mahoney - Posted on 24 March 2025
I called on Thursday for help with adding an item onto my repeat prescription. The receptionist was very polite and was able to talk me through the steps needed to be taken. And gave me the reassurance of what will happen next. And by the next day the item had been added on! Such a great service, from a team that must deal with a lot of challenging situations. Thank you very much!

Review titled Healthcheck not really a check
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Steve Tansley - Posted on 06 February 2025
Delighted to be invited for my first Healthcheck ever but unfortunately disappointed at what it involved. The only actual action taken by a medical professional was a blood test solely for cholesterol. I asked for my weight to be taken and was told to take my own blood pressure in the reception to include in a questionnaire that I was given to complete about myself. I don’t consider this a Healthcheck by the medical profession. I was actually with the medical professional for no more than 5 minutes. I don’t know what I expected, but certainly something more in depth than this. Perhaps something at least for prostate screening given my age? Or the blood test to include tests for liver and kidney function?

Dear Mr Tansley, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. This is the NHS Free Health Check and we have set guidelines within that health check that NHS England instruct us to follow. If you have any other health concerns, you can schedule a routine appointment with your own GP to discuss them further. I hope that clarifies the NHS Free Health Check for you. Review titled Fantastic!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Zoe Smith - Posted on 29 January 2025
I am beyond impressed with Richmond Surgery. I have a daughter who is non verbal, autistic. When she becomes unwell, I have to rely heavily on my GP practice to find out what is wrong with her as she cannot communicate any pain or discomfort to me. Although I always feel like I am wasting the time of the busy doctors/receptionists/nurses, I am never ever treated as such and my daughter is always assessed as and when needed. There have been instances where I've needed to see/speak to the GP myself and I am always treated with such kindness, respect and friendliness by the receptionists. They are extremely helpful and quick to point me in the right direction for treatment or advice. I recently attended and the doctor (who I hadn't met before) was friendly, reassuring and made me feel like she had all the time in the world to listen to me (despite probably having an extremely busy schedule). I didn't feel rushed and I was given three different treatment routes to choose from which I thought was fantastic. It was really geared toward what I would be happy and comfortable with and I went away feeling reassured.

Review titled Hard to book an appointment
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 29 November 2024
Tried to book an appointment for my child today. Called in as soon as the practice opened and was told that I have to use the NHS 'Healthier together' app. Quickly downloaded and configured this, talented my child's details and was told by the app that I could have an online consultation or to call the practice. Obviously calling the practice to book an in-person appointment is apparently no longer possible, so it seems that the only option now is for an online consultation with no time specified - you just have to wait for a call back. This isn't good enough. I did try to call back to confirm this is really the case with the practice, but found I was now number 19 in the queue. The government really, really need to do something.

Dear Patient, Thank you for your review and apologies that you have had a poor experience on this occasion. The Healthier Together app is designed to make it faster and easier for you to obtain the assistance required. The online consultations are triaged by the GPs, allowing them to prioritise the most urgent cases. All consultations are dealt with on the day they are received. We would like to discuss this matter with you further but are unable to do so for Anonymous posters. If you would like to contact us on the surgery email, we would be happy to respond.
