  1. Review titled Bad reception

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 June 2025

When I arrived I tried digitally checking in which failed. I went to queue at the reception as there were two people already there. The person that was on the front was searching their phone for information about a previous doctor appointment, this continued to go on for 20 minutes without the receptionist checking on the other members in the queue which were both just trying to check in, one of them being me. When it was my turn I was 15 minutes late for my appointment at which point I was told that I was really late by the receptionist, I probably won't be seen, and that I should've used the digital check in. There are three things that could have remedied this situation. The doctor could come out and check for a patient even if they're not checked in. The receptionist can manage the queue, prioritising others if their tasks are quick and the person they're currently helping is doing something that they're waiting for like searching their phone or filling out documents. There could be another receptionist. After waiting weeks for an appointment to miss it due to this is ridiculous.

  2. Review titled Wonderful support from the Doctor and surgery

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 June 2025

My mother has complex physical and mental conditions. The GPs at the Red House Surgery and support staff have been extremely supportive, kind, professional and helpful as her health issues continue to change. The surgery has always responed quickly to my requests for advice and medication needs for my mother. The family are very grateful for this continued help to manage my mother's needs.

  3. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Diane Kathleen Barnes - Posted on 11 March 2025

I sent in an email request for appointment at 8.15am, was rung at 8.45 offering an appointment at 9.30am that day . I was able to attend, reassured that my problem was not as serious as I had feared and was home by 10.00am ! The surgery has always been very good to both my husband and I and we would like to thank them so much. When so many people complain they are unable o see a gp for several weeks , this has never been our experience and feel we are very fortunate to be registered with such a wonderful practice. The doctor I saw , who I hadn't seen before was especially thorough and made me feel like I really mattered and wasn't making an unecessary visit. Thanks to everyone at the surgery , you are all fantastic

  4. Review titled Feedback

Rated 3 stars out of 5

On two occasions in January I sent to the Red House Surgery repeat prescription requests. The surgery form has space on which to itemise the drugs needed followed by a space for additional comments. On both occasions comments made were ignored. On the second occasion, I received a text saying that my prescription request had been refused for the precise reason for which, in the comment section, I had explained why it should be accepted. On a related point, the repeat prescription form doesn't mention the drugs for which one might want a repeat prescription. One has to look this up oneself. No big deal, but unnecessarily time consuming.

Once again Red House have been very efficient They provided a repeat prescription at short notice after my request on the NHS app. I had been disorganised. Thank you so much for providing a great service at this very difficult time. I know how busy you are. Thanks again Ramona

  6. Review titled Impossible to get help

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 October 2024

This surgery just gets worse and worse. Virtually impossible to speak to anyone yet alone a doctor Have been trying to find out why a long term medication keeps being removed from my repeat prescription requests. Cannot fill in online form for help as it is constantly being suspended, originally it was for one day but now it's 48 hours. Tried to telephone but you can wait for upto 40 minutes before someone answers & then they can be quite rude. I think after 40 years with this surgery I'm going change my GP practice as dealing with this one is so stressful.

  8. Review titled Tired of getting messed about

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Amber - Posted on 15 May 2024

For the past month I have been messed about by this GP practice. For starters, to get an appointment was a nightmare because they didn't contact me on the phone number I provided so I missed getting an appointment and was told to just submit another form. Then once I had an appointment and had been referred for tests they had sent me an email to contact them about making an appointment to discuss the results. However, when I called they said they had no record of this and that it was best to call after the appointment to ensure they would get the results in time. You can only imagine my frustration to when I call to make the appointment after my test they tell me they only have an appointment three weeks later and that I should have scheduled the appointment prior to the test so I wouldn't of had to wait so long. Lastly, I was referred to a specialist (or at least so I thought) as apparently the referral never went through and it has taken them over a month to realize it and have still not actioned that since I saw them last week.

  9. Review titled No treatment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 May 2024

I've had an inner ear infection ongoing for about 18 months, causing a lot of pain, dizziness and inflammation. It has cleared in the past with antibiotic. I requested an antibiotic a couple of weeks ago, was outright refused, told that my 'story' did not make sense and offered an ear spray despite saying this had not worked in the past. I consulted an audiologist who says I should have been referred to ENT and that he would request such from the surgery. To date I have heard nothing. The GP I saw was abrupt, rude, disbelieving and downright unpleasant, with a patient who was suffering . I am changing GP practice.
