Review titled Unhelpful consultation

Attended the surgery today with a very painful knee. Saw a Doctor who was very dismissive, was told to loose weight which I know I need to do, there are no painkillers that will help with the pain and to book an appointment with the physio. When I asked if the knee support I recently bought would be beneficial he just said no supports will help. Went to book the appointment and was told there is nothing for the next few weeks with the in house physio. When I asked what hours they work as I wanted to try and work around my working hours the receptionist told me they change so she wasn’t certain what hours they will be working when the new rotas go onto the system. The surgery I work at we refer our patients to the Musculoskeletal service so they can book what time suits them. We also send for an x ray before starting physio to make sure patients are eligible for physio. Unfortunately we aren’t allowed to be registered at the surgery we work at otherwise I would register there. I was just made to feel as if I had wasted his time being there

Review titled No Appointments

It’s impossible to get a GP appointment. Once you do, the GP in my case requested bloods, once these results are back and they are “normal”, that is the end of your care. No follow up appointment to look at further investigation to your symptoms just “no further action” as your bloods are “normal”. Whatever happened to a routine follow up appointment? If someone is saying they feel chronically unwell and their tests come back normal, does that mean they are suddenly better? I have spent two years feeling chronically unwell and I’ve given up on ever feeling better. This surgery is just another battle in the process. I fear one day I will be told I have some form of terminal illnesses which could have been treated. But with an inability to see a GP and no pathways to getting better, what can I do. Another example of their poor service was my steroid inhaler causing sores in my mouth. Rang the surgery to be told you need to see a pharmacist. Ok, so off I went to see a pharmacist, who (shock horror) said it’s your inhaler and that a gp needs to review/change it. Call the surgery, no, the gp won’t see you. It’s for the asthma nurses. Ok, no problem. Get a call back, no the asthma nurses won’t see you it isn’t something they’d do. Ok, now what? I’m told to Call 111. I left it, then several months later when I had my normal asthma review. Lo and behold the asthma nurses changed my inhaler. Now all is fine but it shows you the level of red tape and silly games this practice makes you jump through.

Impossible to get an appointment. You get to the end and the phone cuts off or they're always gone. Contradicting information given from reception meaning days/weeks go by of time being wasted waiting for calls which are never going to take place. Very frustrating when dealing with long term illness.

Review titled Rude and unhelpful

Requested a Med3 for an ongoing condition. Was told I could not have one without seeing a GP, the receptionist told me they had no record of my condition, and I had no proof of previous surgeries. My consultant is at QMC and the systems do not speak to eachother. I was spoken to condescendingly and when I mentioned I was a health professional, was told I must "know it all then". What a shame these people represent the NHS.

I was sent a letter from city hospital to have blood tests taken by Rainworth surgery for cancer check up and I was also text by the surgery to book a routine GP appointment for high blood pressure. i walked into the surgery to book both appointments only to be told they can't do blood test as their system doesn't talk to City hospital so i will have to attend the hospital to have bloods done. Then i tried to book an appointment with the GP ... No appointment can i phone the following week to book appointment for the week after. I explained that i am working and not able to call and if i did i still might not get through or the appointment may have gone. I will probably had a heart attack before i get an appointment

Dear Mr Hall, thank you for your feedback. I do apologise for the dissatisfaction you have experienced when trying to book an appointment. Our routine GP appointments do get booked in advance and I do understand the system does not work for all patients. We do have our online triage available for routine appointments, we have pre-bookable GP appointments and on the day availability. Reception staff are trained to care navigate patients to different methods of care i.e. to Pharmacy First, 111 and PC24 if we have reached capacity. If you still require an appointment, please do not hesitate to contact me on 01623 764293. We do advise patients if a blood test is requested by the hospital this is taken at the hospital. We have a limited amount of appointments and these can be booked up to 5 weeks in advance. I do apologies for any inconvenience caused. Many thanks, Laura Baker, Reception Manager.

Where do I start? No appointments available even though my finger on the call button 1 minute before 8 am was caller 6 but guess what sorry no appointments available all gone Wow who is the lucky one of the day who got the appointment even though when you go into the surgery there is never anyone in there!! In the end went to the hospital regarding my high blood pressure they were brilliant and gave me tablets to bring it down Today I have received a text from Rainworth saying I need to provide them with blood I rang them up and explained I had my blood taken at the hospital last week! There is no record of that at the doctors so I need it taking again but the doctors can’t fit me in they have told me to go back to the hospital to have it taken who will probably tell me I have had it done Time wasting at best Unprofessional at worst

Review titled Unable to see infant
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 10 December 2024
I recently had a frustrating experience trying to make an appointment for my 4-month-old. When I called the doctor's, I was told I was 13th in the queue, and by the time I got through, all available appointments had been booked. I was advised to call 111, visit a pharmacy (even I know a pharmacist won’t be able to see an under 1), or try again the next day—none of which felt like suitable options for an infant needing care. It was disappointing that the system didn't seem prepared to handle demand, especially for urgent cases involving young children. I hope they improve their scheduling process to ensure better access to care in the future
