  1. Review titled Terrible services

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Rung up the surgery on Thursday 4th January about my son and his asthma pump. I got told he was put on the call list for the next day. Friday evening comes and I haven't got a phone call. So I ring the surgery on Monday 8th January and get told he is on the call for that day. I get no phone call. I ring up today (Tuesday 9th January) and ask what is going. I get told that they tried to ring me yesterday but there was no answer. My phone was on loud and I was keeping an eye on it all day. So they put me on the call list for today and still have no phone call. I'm disgusted by this as my son is 15 months old and needs help.

Dear Patient, I am extremely apologetic to find you did not get a phone call in time. I trust doctor from the surgery has spoken to you, expressed his apology to you and dealt with the problem of your son. Many thanks for raising your concerns, Kind regards, Practice Manager Priory Road Surgery Hastings

  2. Review titled Lack of Courtesy : Receptionist

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Helen Hearn - Posted on 27 September 2023

27/09/2023 : I phoned the surgery this morning at 8.33. Call was answered by an extremely uncaring receptionist taking calls today , total lack of common courtesy Her reply : Name, Date of Birth, Problem She was probably reading from a template but with no regard or care for me the patient Lack of Telephone manner and attitude I explained to the Receptionist my reason for calling …(was obvious that a telephone call would not be useful ) Her Reply ; telephone call from doctor, I explained that the doctor has to be able to ‘see’ and assess my problem Silence from Receptionist….3.45 ? I asked her what did that mean ? She then ‘had’ to communicate with me that appointment with Dr at 3.45 pm I thanked her for her time and ‘courtesy’ ( or probably lack of ) did not say that to her as I am respectful I myself have been a senior Cardiothoracic health professional and educator at an NHS tertiary centre of excellence hospital trust I am appalled at the manner that this receptionist communicated with me today •Good communication is needed •Caring approach •Treating patients with empathy • Showing Respect for Patients Recommendations: • Telephone manner to deal with calls • Common basic courtesy • Respect : same as I gave to the receptionist on my call ( Good Morning!) • Better communication skills to be able to communicate effectively without rudeness and disrespect and disregard to patients who may be experiencing illnesses , some terminal The majority of medical staff at this surgery are always polite and respectful as well as treat patients with empathy and care and compassion and courtesy ( the 3 C’s) needed snd recommended by the CQC I hope that the Practice Manager and Medical Director will be able to provide training to the receptionists ( Front of the house ) As I can see from Reviews that this area is the worst for this very good medical surgery

Dear Ms Hearn, I wrote to you earlier but I am not able to see my previous reply on the website. I have gone through the list of patients and could not find your name. It would be helpful if you could confirm that you have written your complaint to the right GP surgery. I am sorry to see that you have felt this way. Kind regards, Practice Manager, Priory Road Surgery, Hastings
