  1. Review titled Never answer the phone

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 April 2023

According to receptionist (when attending appt for another family member) appointments for blood tests can only be made via the telephone (diabetic so need appt to check figures). Spent 45 minutes waiting initially in a queue system for 30 minutes then a further 15 with it just ringing out before finally giving up. How do you get an appointment for a blood test if no one answers the telephone! This isn’t an isolated occasion either as happens regularly with Primrose Lane Medical Centre as they just don’t bother to answer the phone (at all in the afternoon and rarely in the morning unless it’s 8am for GP appts). Suggest they hire more reception staff to answer phone calls.

Dear Anonymous Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry for you negative experience with the practice. There is a link for booking blood tests online , this is so you don't wait on the telephone for ages trying to get through. This information is available from reception staff and we will provide this feedback so they continue to give the correct information out to patients. We do try and aim to answer the phone in a timely manner. We are sorry for your experience on this occasion. Please contact the practice manager to discuss this further, we would be happy to assist in any way we can. Either email on wolccg.primroselanesurgery@nhs.net or telephone the practice at your convenience. I will be discussing your concerns with the team and you will see an improvement in the services we offer. Kind regards Jasbinder - Practice Manager

  2. Review titled Misleading information and impossible to get appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

Have phoned surgery numerous times to seek appointment. Not urgent - happy to book in advance. Listened to answerphone message whilst on hold for long time, every time(!) which says you can book general appointment on line through PatientAccess. However no option to book through this service. Eventually spoke to receptionist who told me they don’t offer the PatientAccess appointment booking service. Pointed out misinformation on answer phone and she said “ we must get round to changing that !”. She said I have to phone at 8am each day to try and get an appointment that day but they never pick up phone and instead I listen to answer phone that gives incorrect information!!Dreadful

  3. Review titled Can't get any appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

If you require an appointment you are told to call on a Monday. When you do call you can never get through. And please don't even bother trying to call Friday to book for the following week as you will be told ring back Monday for next weeks appointments as they can't book you in before then for that week. I don't know what has happened to this surgery as prior to covid it used to be a very well run and reputable doctors where you could get an appointment or book in advance to see the Dr the following week. Now you can't even get past the receptionist. You can't have a telephone consultation, you can't request for a referral or xray without seeing the doctor first but you can not get an appointment.
