Review titled Shocking experience
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Andrew Porter - Posted on 16 April 2025
I have an ongoing UTI problem , every time I want to see a doctor I'm told to give a urine sample which I do , infections don't always show in a sample , doctors words , so if it comes back clear then your not contacted to be told this , I can't ring the surgery as have a hearing g issue , it means taking a day of work , which today ive done again only to go through the same thing once more , give a sample Which I think again will come back clear . I desperately need to see a GP face yo face but it's impossible you can't book an appointment first thing in the morn anymore your just told to ring later on in the day or the following day which obviously I can't do The systems not fit for purpose any more. People are suffering and need to see there GP face to face , it's what there paid for I'm wondering now what there actually doing all day if there not seeing patients ??

Good Morning Mr Porter, Thankyou for your feedback, I am very sorry to hear on this occasion that the care you received didn't meet the expectations I would endeavour to achieve. I completely understand your frustrations with not being able to book a face to face appointment, i am hoping with the implementation of the new PATCHs triage system this will alleviate some of the pressures our patients and clinicians experience and the new system will make the booking process more streamlined and responsive to our patients needs. I can see you have had a face to face appointment and hope that all treatment and relevant advise has now been give to you, and any further interactions with the Surgery will be positive ones. Please feel free to reach out in future where i will always take feedback and concerns onboard to hopefully make the patient experience a better one. Kind Regards Alahna Canning Practice Manager

Review titled Great Pharmacy Technician
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Elaine Elder - Posted on 26 March 2025
Can't praise or thank the Pharmacy Technician enough for her help today in obtaining a prescription for my 95 year old Mum.After an unsuccessful, unhelpful call to reception I contacted Laura to try + help me get some cream for a sore bleeding bottom on an old lady who has just been discharged from hospital after surviving sepsis. So instead of having to wait at least another 24 hours to queue at 8am to ask same question, everything was sorted within half an hour + prescription was waiting at the pharmacy. Amazing service from Laura.

Review titled Thank you!!
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Olivia - Posted on 20 February 2025
I have been at this GP practise my whole life. Considering the high demand and stress placed on GPs, the reception team are great at being on hand to book appointments and aid with queries. Further, the medical practitioners are wonderful. My doctor (who I unfortunately cannot name on here), has demonstrated much patience and expertise with my various health concerns. She is a very kind and approachable doctor who gives honest and helpful advice with the patients’ best interest at heart. Thank you, Poplar House!

Review titled Very poor service with rude reception
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 14 January 2025
I moved to the area and wanted to join this medical centre. I called to book in to see a doctor for a problem I am having. I was told that you can only book an appointment for a specific day by calling that day at 8am. I took a day off work so that I could do this. When I called, the receptionist was very rude, quizzed me on my symptoms and refused to give me an appointment. She made me fell like I was making something up or making a fuss about nothing and I was very shocked by her attitude. She said someone would call me back which they did and they told me that I would have to call another morning to make an appointment. Really poor service, I was made to feel like I shouldn't even be trying to make an appointment and if I want to, I will have to take more time off work.

Review titled bad experience for booking
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Collin Ng - Posted on 09 September 2023
I had an appointment of ear syringing last Wednesday because I felt water in my ear, no pain. After checking my ears, the nurse told me that my ears were clear, my ears problem maybe caused by other part of my body. She recommended to make an appointment with GP. Therefore, I went to Poplar House and made another appointment last Thursday morning, I told the staff my situation and needed to talk to the GP face to face. I was told GP would call me back that day. But I requested to have an appointment with GP face to face. I was afraid I couldn't listen clearly on the phone. I told the staff the appointment could be made the other day. Finally, she made an appointment at the PCT surgery on Friday night. I went to PCT surgery and found that the appointment was ear syringing again. I think the staff did not listen to my need and made the right appointment. It's really waste my time.
