Review titled Worst GP practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 22 June 2023
One of the worst GP in the country when it’s come to patient care, being rude and unprofessional, and if you are a non white then you may not get treatment. I have been waiting for my prescription (which prescribed by a hospital) last two weeks, When I have spoken to GP manager and he said it will take three working days to update the system(which is strange itself). Even after three days… days goes no progress and every time you call GP when you ask for update then reception will say, it May happen tomorrow, and if you ask why it is taking long time and I am out of medication that is having a negative impact on my life, and response is would, don’t raise your voice. This strange service! Seems like you can’t say anything as soon as you ask for any service then disconnect the call to say, and act as if I do not have any rights to ask questions, you take it or leave it.

Dear Anonymous Thank you for your review which appears to be a duplicate of one that you have posted on Google. We are obviously disappointed to receive such a poor review as we do strive to give good quality care to all our patients. I would refute totally that we have been rude and unprofessional as my prescription clerk colleague and myself tried to assist you fully when you rang and remained professional at all times. I have no idea why you would say we are racist as we always treat all our patients equally. If you would like to provide examples from our conversations then please do as I would definitely get someone else to investigate myself and my colleague fully, and take the appropriate actions, as we have zero tolerance to racism at our practice. I am confident we did not even consider race in our conversations or actions but, if you feel we did, then please let me know urgently. Following a detailed conversation with our Prescription Clerk where she explained the situation with your prescription, I was then asked to call you and I went through our procedures once more. The letter from the hospital had just arrived (you may want to take it up with the hospital why it took so long to arrive at Plas Meddyg) and, as my colleague had explained previously, I then explained that we ask patients for 3 working days to process requests. We often manage quicker than this, but ask our patients to give us this amount of time so they do not make a wasted journey to their pharmacist and find that it hasn’t arrived yet. In my experience I believe this length of time to be fairly standard across primary care in England. Despite our detailed explanations, you couldn’t understand why it would take so long, and, as I felt I had been through my explanation multiple times (including waiting for you to make a recording) and had nothing else to add, I did indeed say that I was ending the call after 18 minutes. We processed your request and I can see that your prescription was sent electronically within the quoted timescale. I am surprised and sorry if when you range again, reception said something along the lines “it may happen tomorrow”. The prescription was going through the normal process so there was little they could add to what was happening as they could see that it was waiting to be signed off by a doctor. A doctor signs off prescriptions every day so it was in the queue ready to go – one of the number steps required to process a prescription request. I feel that we were polite and professional at all times and actioned your request within our normal working practice timeline. I am sorry that you disagree. Kind regards, Mark Burgess, Practice Manager

Review titled Trusted medical team.

I requested a general health check. The practice nurse took great care to conduct this accurately, and explain her findings to me, providing reassurance about discovery of my unexpected irregular pulse. Subsequent GP appointment was rapidly organised. After my examination by GP she took time to ensure I understood the next steps in this investigation. The waiting time for a 24hr trace via NHS heart monitor was explained. Told to make urgent return appointment if my heart rate/pulse changes, or I feel unwell.

Review titled Listening Practice

The medical staff listened attentively to both myself as a patient and my spouse whose observations are often more relevant than my symptoms. There was no rush. The doctor made sure that we both understood the process and progress of my condition. Reassuring and encouraging in every way.
