The doctors listen and explain there decisions. The reception always try to help and they keep a bridge between patient and the surgery

Helpful reception staff. Doctors take time to listen to you. Clear notices giving information on what the surgery offers to the patients.

When I need to consult the Doctors I have to say that my experience is always a positive one. All staff starting from the initial contact with the Receptionists is one of the desire to help. Our particular Doctor has been so very helpful and concerned and especially where my husband is concerned responses to questions and requests have been very prompt. I feel really fortunate to be registered with Plas Meddyg and would thoroughly recommend them.

One of the worst GP in the country when it’s come to patient care, being rude and unprofessional, and if you are a non white then you may not get treatment. I have been waiting for my prescription (which prescribed by a hospital) last two weeks, When I have spoken to GP manager and he said it will take three working days to update the system(which is strange itself). Even after three days… days goes no progress and every time you call GP when you ask for update then reception will say, it May happen tomorrow, and if you ask why it is taking long time and I am out of medication that is having a negative impact on my life, and response is would, don’t raise your voice. This strange service! Seems like you can’t say anything as soon as you ask for any service then disconnect the call to say, and act as if I do not have any rights to ask questions, you take it or leave it.

I requested a general health check. The practice nurse took great care to conduct this accurately, and explain her findings to me, providing reassurance about discovery of my unexpected irregular pulse. Subsequent GP appointment was rapidly organised. After my examination by GP she took time to ensure I understood the next steps in this investigation. The waiting time for a 24hr trace via NHS heart monitor was explained. Told to make urgent return appointment if my heart rate/pulse changes, or I feel unwell.

I have never had a poor experience at Plas Meddyg the reception always tries to help, the doctors give me confidence and they seem genuinely interested in your problems.

The medical staff listened attentively to both myself as a patient and my spouse whose observations are often more relevant than my symptoms. There was no rush. The doctor made sure that we both understood the process and progress of my condition. Reassuring and encouraging in every way.

Was number 1 in queue for 12 minutes, then got through to be asked if I could hold the line. Still waiting & it's 4 minutes. Are they having a cup of tea?. Once answered should they not talk to you first. Terrible telephone service. Need to sort this out sooner rather than later.

Dear Anonymous Thank you for taking the time to post a review and I am sorry that you did not have a good experience with the telephone system / your call being answered. We do receive a large volume of calls and answer these in order. Without knowing the full details, I assume that you were at Number 1 in the queue for so long because the receptionists were busy with the previous calls or with someone at the counter. Once their previous calls have ended the new calls come straight through to their phones. The receptionists then acknowledge the new call but sometimes have to ask the caller to wait while they finish dealing with / type up any detail from the previous call, or deal with someone who has been waiting at the counter. We do try and keep these waits on hold to a minimum. Kind regards, Mark Burgess, Practice Manager
