    3 times over the last 12 months I have not been allowed to make an actual face to face appointment with my GP. You have a telephone conversation with someone you have to speak to before you get an appointment. This resulted in misdiagnosis of the condition resulting in having to seek advice elsewhere. Today my daughter tried to get an appointment to see a Dr urgently. The surgery advised antibiotics but wouldn’t see her. She was so worried she took herself off to A&E where they said it was a case of Cellulitis and it should be treated with totally different antibiotics.

    The challenge is to actually get into a queue on the phone to try and speak to a doctor or get a call back, lines are continually engaged or you are connected to an automatic message only to be cut off at the end. Their receptionist clearly must be medically qualified, as she advised me that it was probably better to seek medical support at the local hospital. Truly the worst doctors surgery I have had the misfortune to be registered with , I would be very scared to become seriously ill and expect basic medical care from this GP surgery.

    Sadly I’ve had to phone a few time recently as my father’s health and mental condition has deteriorated. Just wanted to say how great your receptionists are. So caring and understanding when I know you are so busy. It makes such a difference to me and my anxieties and concerns for him.

    I went to the surgery Monday to speak to my Doctor I said it was not urgent and had a phone call Thursday and the Doctor asked me to come to the surgery at 12pm. I still say it is one of the best surgerys staff are wonderful and my Doctor!! thank you all

    Couldn’t get through after several days of trying so went in, in person. Needed an asthma review which is only done by telephone on a Wednesday am. Explained I am a hospital Consultant myself and have a clinic on a Wednesday also. The receptionist made no effort to find a solution and was extremely rude.. I asked whether I could make an appointment in May, when I have some annual leave, and was basically told to go away. I deal with the public on a day to day basis and treat my patients with the utmost respect. I don’t think it’s too much to ask for the same when I am a patient myself.

    Phoned three times to try to get an appointment owing to acute pain that came on suddenly and got worse over three days. Each time phone just rang off. Then when the line did stay open I was told to hold as I was number 10 in the queue. A telephone appointment was offered in five days time! This surgery used to be excellent but since Phoenix took over it has worsened considerably.

    I am aware the receptionists are the gatekeepers to prioritise the need for patients to get a phone call from a doctor. They are busy and probably under stress. There is no excuse for rudeness and complete lack of empathy. I really wish now I had not made the call.
