  1. Review titled Terrible Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Tried to get a nurse appointment for stitches to be removed but was told the nurse was fully booked, only appointment was over a week away when stitches needed to come out b4 then, not offered a Dr who could do it Normally it’s a struggle to get appointments if you can get past the receptionist. Many medical letters have been filed without being read leading to missed treatment or delayed treatment when the medical letters recommended further treatment. This is due to too many letters being received by the practice, how many other patients have far more serious medical conditions missed due letters just being filed away without being read!! What’s more distressing is I cannot move Drs as the nearest one with Eccles as it’s catchment is Wateringbury???

Dear Patient. I'm sorry that you feel our service for the removal of your stitches has not met your expectations. Stitches would normally be as a result of a surgical procedure and you should have been advised at the time to book your removal appointment well in advance. Although our nurses can do this procedure, you would also be able to get this arranged via the hospital that carried out the procedure. As you can appreciate, the demand for GP appointments far outweighs the availability and their appointments would be focused on dealing with patients with an immediate medical need as well as those with chronic conditions. We have been trying for sometime now to recruit and additional nurse and I'm pleased to confirm that we will have an additional nurse starting around May. With regard to any correspondence that comes into the surgery, please be advised that every letter is read and then passed along to the most appropriate person for any follow up action to be done. Staff went out of their way to assist with a medication issue. I emailed and it was sorted on the same day which was greatly appreciated.
