Got a message saying surgery needed to speak to me regarding a request for a prescription item. Got thro to surgery 10 minutes later. Was told there was no record of the text. The request for the item was sent in last friday its now the following thursday. Told they cant help me the surgery is closing in 1 minute. This had passed by the time i had finished talking to the receptionist. Was told i would have to (try) make an appointment tomorrow. A week after i sent in the request. If i cant get an appointment tomorrow then i will have to wait a further 2 days over the weekend. So it took 4 days to decide to tell me something but we dont know what because theres nothing on my notes. I have to wait and gamble that i can get an appointment tomorrow. If surgery want to speak to me then why cant you make an appt for me. Yes i know i can use other online methods but by the time youve worked your way thro them all appts have gone. 1 oclock thursday, surgery closed, cant speak to anyone and Practice Manager is going into meetings. Wait till tomorrow!!

  2. Review titled Difficulties in communicating with the practice.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by John - Posted on 27 January 2023

As there are difficulties phoning the practice I order my prescriptions through a Boots pharmacy. This used to work like clockwork but not any more. I still have not received a prescription a full weel after it was ordered, despite the pharmcy sending a reminder after 5 days (which did include a weekend), however two days after the reminder I had another wasted journey and as it was 4pm I could not ring the surgery. This is one of many concerns I have about the practice however.

Dear John Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience has not met your satisfaction. We can only issue the medication once we have received a request for it, we are unable to offer an automatic prescribing system unfortunately due to constraints out of our control. This means that if a pharmacy requests on your behalf, we can only action this once they have requested. The surgery is open via telephone until 6.30pm. Kind regards, Peterloo Medical Centre

  3. Review titled Feel let down

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Thomas Temple - Posted on 20 October 2022

Had a spinal injection several years ago and this practice was brilliant at organising this at Salford Royal. I called in yesterday to try and book an appointment explaining to the receptionist I have tried on the phone at 8 am for over 2 weeks as the pain is now quite severe without success I also explained my hearing loss is a lot worse so I can’t always understand on the telephone. She told me to use the nhs app which I have just done at 8am and 3 telephone triage came up and on each one when I clicked on went to not available. I really don’t know what to do next as although I can hardly walk with the pain A&E are to busy with accidents etc, although I am a OAP I still go to the Gym and I run for a local athletic club so I very rarely bother Peterloo medical centre with ailments, the Doctors and Nurses are probably very good I just don’t know. So sad what has happened to this practice.

Dear Thomas. Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience has not met your satisfaction. You can currently book appointments from 8.00am Monday to Friday via telephone, via the NHS App and we also use a routine non urgent online request system called PATCHS. There are also a number of different services across the borough that our Receptionists may be able to signpost you to as you may not necessarily need to speak to a GP. There is also a new Enhanced Access service for Evenings and Weekends which our reception staff can book into in advance. All information is available on our website. Kind regards, Peterloo Medical Centre

  4. Review titled Ridiculous practice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

On 07/10/2022 We arrived at 10:27 for our 10:40 appointment and told this was to early and we would have to wait outside. The weather on this day was wet and windy and not good conditions to leave a poorly 3 year old outside in. Patronising rude staff, questioned the reason for being made to wait outside in the rain with a poorly child and was told it's to protect vulnerable patients and the GPs had made this rule. The waiting room had no one in it. As an NHS worker else where and being to numerous appointments I know this is no way of treating patients and the staff are just being lazy and dismissive.

Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback. We have listened to patient and staff feedback on this matter and as of 17/10/2022 have stopped using the intercom system and patients can attend early however any symptoms of COVID may be asked to wait in a separate waiting area and possibly wear a mask to see their clinician. We had this system in place due to the risk of COVID infections for any vulnerable patients and this was explained to you. There is a higher risk of passing on COVID when sat in an enclosed environment with other patients for 15+ minutes. I can assure you that our staff are not lazy nor dismissive and were following the correct protocol in place at the time. Our staff have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic when both staffing and clinician levels have been lower than ever, and patient demand has been higher than ever. regards, Peterloo Medical Centre

Getting appointment is not possible, I call in the morning and line is busy, I'm not even in the queue but disconnected. Tried a few times in the afternoons and the same. Not appointment forward. I feel helpless and frustrated.

Thank you for your feedback. We have listened to patient feedback on this issue and are currently in liaison with our telephone provider to upgrade our system which will allow patients to queue on the telephone. Once this has been installed we will put this on our news section on the practice website. Kind regards, Peterloo Medical Centre

  6. Review titled Fantastic practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kelly Porter - Posted on 12 June 2022

I last had an appointment on 6th June 2022, I managed to get this appointment on the day without an issue. Member of staff I spoke to was very professional, caring and polite. The doctor I saw took the time to listen, answer questions and ordered blood tests to investigate my issues. I have never had any issues with this practice since joining. Their service is far superior to my last practice and much more professional. I actually feel like the doctor's care and don't just prescribe more medication all the time.

Thanks very much to the kind lady who took my blood this morning at 9.00am, she was so very nice & polite with a lovely gentle voice tone that instantly made me feel calm & looked after, I have also spoken to this lady on the phone on a couple of occasions & she is exactly the same always happy to help.

  8. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jolene Knott - Posted on 10 June 2022

I visited the surgery and spoken to a receptionist, she gave me a suitable face to face appointment. She was very helpful, supportive and kind as always. The GP I seen was professional and thorough. I was seen and assessed in about 10 - 15 minutes. I left the surgery happy and full of confidence in our wonderful NHS and my GP practice, which I've belonged to for the last 23 years. Thanks again!

  9. Review titled Worst Surgery for appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 May 2022

Only have ring on the day appointment's which you start ringing for at 8am and after at the least 50 minutes and 117 times trying to get through you're told there is no appointments. Told to go on line which I do and still no pre bookable or day appointments. How long standing illness reviews are meant to happen, I'll never know or even treatment for flare up's. These reviews are apart of Qof so I think you'll be failing on that miserably. It's a shame really because the GP's they do have here are really good Dr's, the system here is pants and offers nothing for the working person or chronically ill. Wouldn't mind if I was one of those taking the mick and going for the fun of it, but I never go and always treat myself as much as I can, but when you need your GP this surgery completely lets it's patients down. Also A&E is completely inappropriate to sign post people to for everyday illnesses, and follow up's that a GP should be seeing and reviewing. The emergency Hub number you give out is also as useless, they too never have appointments, so it really is just a fob off to get us off your phone line and pass the responsibility on. Maybe look after the ones who actually pay tax and national insurance and that go to work, these are the people who rarely need you and crack on in life, but you fail to look after.

I am not aware of any staff members signposting to A&E unless the patient has provided symptoms deemed appropriate for A&E such as Stroke or Cardiac Arrest symptoms. Long Term conditions are reviewed by our Nursing Team and Patients are recalled by the practice when due. Paying Tax and National insurance has nothing to do with General Practice which is free at the point of access for anyone regardless of status. All information is available on our website. Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Heidi Williams - Posted on 25 May 2022

I was diagnosed with a complex condition by my gp who did thorough tests and listened carefully and asked many questions. He started me on the correct treatment and withing days my quality of life has improved so much I cant thank them enough. I never feel fobbed off ,im always listened to and taken seriously. He made a follow up appt one week later to see how I was and explained my condition and everything I needed to know. I've been with this surgery for 4 yrs and always found them to be excellent.
