  1. Review titled Excellence personified

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was extremely impressed with the Doctor who was extremely helpful. As I cannot mention names, may I hint at least that he attends on a Wednesday to ensure he receives the recognition so justly deserved. The staff at Pershore Medical Practice are always polite and helpful and trust this review will enable them to know, they are appreciated.

  2. Review titled Well run practice - credit where credit is due

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Have been a patient for about 12 years and feel as though the experience has been, in footballing terms a game of two halves. These last few years my experience has been truly outstanding and the practice really does cater for a busy working professional. My perception is the infusion of new Doctors 'melded' together with older more venerable statespersons of the medical profession has made a difference. The support staff are very worthy of a mention, as is the positive demeanour and approach by all staff. I have complained in the past but my perception of the practice could not be any more positive - thank you.

  3. Review titled Excellent practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by J.Griggs - Posted on 26 July 2023

I have been a patient at this practice for over 15 years. I am now 82 so my medical needs have increased. I have nothing but praise for all the staff. During the Covid epidemic I used (and continue to use) the medication delivery service pharmacy 2 u I recently had my annual review and the pharmacist was extremely helpful and reassuring. I miss not having the same gp but understand how difficult this is. If I had to complain about anything it would be having to dodge the pigeon poo at the entrance and the sad state of the garden border on approach. My guess is the council are responsible for this and this is no reflection on the practice. We are going through chaotic times and the calm atmosphere at the practice gives me hope that we will get through this difficult period. Well done all of you. Never forget your patients value you all.

Dear Ms Griggs Thank you so much for your comments. We really appreciate it when a patient takes time to give us some positive feedback on our service. I will pass your comments on to the staff who will be encouraged to hear them. With regard to the mess created by the pigeons at the entrance door we have recently installed a deterrent so hope that this will no longer be a problem. You are correct in assuming that the carpark area and borders are the domain of Wychavon Council and I will pass your comments about the state of the garden borders on to them in the hope that they will be able to make improvements in that area. Thanks again and best wishes. J Evans Practice Manager

  4. Review titled No appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

My husband booked a face to face doctor appointment over the phone with reception over 2 weeks ago. Cancelled other commitments to attend the appointment. Turned up early for the appointment today to be told there was no appointment made and the specified doctor was not in today! He had a number of medical issues and test results to discuss. An oversight by the receptionist or poor administration? So many issues with the practice and pharmacy these days.

Dear Patient I am pleased to hear that we have been providing your medication to you regularly on Fridays. I am sorry that you experienced difficulties with picking it up on this occasion and that you have been in pain as a result of this. If you would like to contact me at the Practice to give me some details I can look into the matter and give you some feedback as to the reason for the delay in your medication being ready. We are in the process of installing a medication dispensing machine which will allow patients to collect their medication 24/7 so hopefully in the future if there are any delays or problems with medication on a Friday you will be able to collect over the weekend. Of course we will be working hard to ensure that your medication is always ready when you come to collect it in the usual way. Please do get in touch if you wish to discuss this further. Thank you Jackie Evans Practice Manager

  6. Review titled Delayed Prescriptions

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 May 2023

Last month my prescription still had not been passed to the pharmacy even after 8 working days of calling it in. This month I have had to call twice to get my prescription sent through to the pharmacy, as the first time it just wasn’t done. Queues, and the processing system, at the practice pharmacy are also so long and delayed. Never an easy process just to to get your prescription fulfilled.

Dear Patient Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback. I am sorry that you have experienced difficulties with your prescription. We would normally aim to process a prescription request within 5 working days so I apologise that we did not meet this target. We are working hard to reduce the waiting times and queues including employing and training more dispensing staff. We have also recently introduced a medication dispensing machine which will give patients we dispense medication to the ability to collect their medicine 24/7 at a time to suit them. We hope this will reduce the pressure on the Dispensary hatch and improve our service to all of our patients. J Evans Practice Manager

I needed to have a review with a specific doctor and I was able to book this with ease via the friendly reception team. The day came and the doctor called and completed the consultation in a professional and friendly manner. Great service at a difficult time for the NHS, thank you.

  8. Review titled Kind, caring and efficient

Rated 5 stars out of 5

We've lived here just over a year but with two small children we have had quite a number of interactions with GPs and Nurse practioners at Pershore Medical. Every interaction with staff, medical and on the reception team, has been excellent. Understandably there are sometimes waits on the telephone but we've really appreciated the call-back service at particularly busy times, which has really improved the issue. Staff have gone out of their way to be helpful and have always been kind, positive and happy in all of their interactions with us. We are very grateful to have such a great surgery - thank you!

  9. Review titled Poor practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

I actually don't know why you book for an appointment because every time you book an appointment in Pershore medical practice you won't be seen on time ever. I made an appointment on the 17 January at 14,10pm and sat there until 14.30 waiting for a nurse to see us. By 14,30 we had to make another appointment which is unacceptable because there wasn't anyone else in the surgery waiting to see any of the nurses. It's not the first time it's happened to us waiting to see the nurse. It's been a number of time's this is happened to us. we are fed up with it. This is why we pick certain time's so your not waiting around to see a nurse. You don't mind waiting 5,or even 10 minutes but 20 minutes is a joke. And that day we had other appointments somewhere else so we couldn't wait any longer.

If whoever made the comment would be happy to get in touch that would be really helpful as we would like to find out more information and look into what happened so that we can avoid this happening again. We are very sorry for any distress that has been caused and would like to chat with you about your experience and try to ensure that we avoid you having any undue wait for future appointments. Our nurses try to always run to time and it is only on rare occasions that they may run late if a particular consultation with a patient takes longer than anticipated. If they are running late it will be because they are providing care to another patient. Many thanks Jackie Evans Practice Manager

  10. Review titled Pharmacy needs a complete overhaul

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 October 2022

I ordered my prescription giving the requested 5 working days notice (6 in fact) only to be told they are running behind and it wasn't ready. I either had the option of sitting and waiting while they put it up for me, or call back between opening hours. Guess what, their 'temporary' opening hours are now 8-5.30 - which just happens to coincide with a lot of office hours, so when am I supposed to collect my prescription? Add to that they are closed on Wednesday for an hour for staff training and now a message has come through saying don't bother to go on 19th or 26th Oct as they are closed all day. I thought a Dr's surgery was designed to help patients, not that the patients should have to fit their illness and prescription collection around the opening times of the pharmacy.

Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you have experienced difficulties with getting your medication from our Dispensary and would like to apologise for any distress this has caused. Our normal service is to have medication ready for patients within 5 working days of them requesting it and we often have the medication ready before the 5 days are up. However we are currently moving to a new IT system in the Dispensary with improved functionality and which we hope will result in some enhanced services for patients such as a comprehensive electronic prescription service. The introduction of the new system combined with particularly high demand from patients for medication has meant that we are experiencing some delays in the Dispensary. We are putting measures in place to rectify this including staff working overtime and on Saturdays and we hope that our normal service will be resumed within the next 2 weeks. The Dispensary is closed for picking up medication on Wed 19 and Wed 26 October to facilitate the new IT system and ensure that the staff can focus on preparing patient's medication on these days to help with catching up. This is a step we have not taken lightly and we had hoped that by notifying patients about this in advance it would allow them to make arrangements to pick up medication on another day. We are working hard to help our patients and we have patient needs at the forefront of all that we do. I am sorry that it is not coming across this way to you and that you feel we have let you down. If you would like to speak to me to discuss this further or to hear more about what we are doing to improve services for patients I would be happy to meet with you at a convenient time for you to discuss your concerns and try to explain what we are doing to address them. Best wishes Jackie Evans Practice Manager
