  1. Review titled Don’t bother with online registration

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 July 2023

I registered online on a Friday and the same week I had a medical emergency, so called them. I was told that my registration will take 3-4 week. I sorted out my medical issue with a private practice and then emergency care in hospital. I called them the next day to check my registration and get information how my long term treatment should go forward. I was then told that they don’t accept online registration, they don’t see my registration form. Yet, when I asked if I have to call and cancel my registration because I choose another practice, they told me to call back to cancel. So if my online registration form is not with the practice, why on earth do I have to cancel the registration they claim non-existent? It’s a mess… Avoid them.

Thank you for your review. We generally try and register patients within one week of registering but I can see that you requested to register online. Unfortunately at the time of your registration, we were unaware that our registrations had gone online, hence why you were given incorrect information. This has now been resolved and staff have been trained to accept online registrations as well as paper registrations handed in at the reception desk. We appreciate you were also told 3 - 4 weeks. At the time we were short staffed and inundated with patients wanting to register. We apologise for the stress this caused you. We do hope you managed to register successfully with another GP Practice.

  2. Review titled Unhelpful and Cruel and Lie

Rated 1 star out of 5

I've tried to get help with menopause problems for years and been fobbed off. As things worsened I've resisted being fobbed off. In last 3 months I've been lied to, promised help which has then been denied or gone back on. I've been treated well by some but very badly and with a complete lack of empathy by others. Basically left to it which is cruel, unkind and unfair. One person says one thing and offers help then another blocks that help. Rude, unhelpful, uncaring people who seem to delight in the power they get from going back on help offered to desperate patients despite the way this might effect people's mental health and overall well-being. I thought this problem was a thing if the past, clearly not at this surgery.

Thank you for response. I would suggest you speak to the Practice Manager who will take more details from you and see if there is a way this issue can be resolved for you.

  3. Review titled Had enough

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been registered with this surgery for many years and it used to have friendly receptionists and helpful GP's who actually listened and cared. Nowadays I am scared to even pick the phone up because of the aggressive way I'm spoken to if I want to make an appointment or have an enquiry. It's absolutely appalling how I was spoken to today on the phone and it has made my anxiety even worse, I'm in tears.

I am sorry to hear about the treatment you received at Pennfields Medical Centre. It is never our intention to upset patients. Unfortunately I do not have your details to determine which receptionist spoke to you. This comment will be passed onto the reception team to ensure no other patients receive this service.
