    No matter when you phone you either wait for over hr and always told no appointment left my son has been in extreme pain with his joints and even after explaining this still nothing it's the worse service provider ever

    I rang the surgery after picking up a prescription that didn't include the main item I had ordered. I rang to say it wasn't on the prescription although I had ordered it in plenty of time two weeks prior on line and had the print off as proof. after waiting from 15th in line to eventually reaching a receptionist. I explained what had happened. She argued with me that I hadn't ordered it. I verified I had and explained that I had now run out of the medication and needed an emergency prescription. She said they didn't do general meds as emergency. Very calmly and without frustration, I said that's ok but I have been told not to stop taking it and I haven't any left. She then changed demeanour and accused me of having a go at her, I was shocked and replied that I wasn't having a go just trying to find a solution...she then hung up on me whilst I was explaining thais..how rude!! shocking patient care and understanding.

    It is always an absolute stress trying to get an appointment here. On hold for over an hour from 8:30 when the lines open.. only to be told there are no appointments left and you can call 111. The call handlers/receptionists are always incredibly rude and unhelpful, both over the phone and in person. I completely understand they are understaffed but there really is not need to be so miserable and condescending, especially when people are being polite to you and just trying to find out the best way to get an appointment. As soon as I can I will be moving myself and the rest of my family to another practice.

    In lots of pain in my knee. Tried for nearly a week to get an appointment. Contact by phone very difficult. Called at surgery but told to return following morning. Attended in morning only to be told I would be contacted by phone. Waited all day and eventually was contacted by nurse practitioner, not doctor, who said no need to see doctor and to do exercises. Still in pain days later and returned to surgery to be turned away again and told doctor would phone. Eventually spoke to doctor who made appointment for x-ray at hospital. After nearly two weeks with no further contact from surgery ,went to A + E but was told to go to my own doctors. After explaining why I had come to A + E nurse phoned surgery and asked why it was taking so long for me to get treatment. She said the surgery would be in contact later that day. Eventually was phoned by doctor and after explaining my problem he said he would arrange for me to see an orthopaedic surgeon at the hospital. In the meantime was given prescription for pain killers. Now been phoned from surgery and told that I will be phoned next Monday to discuss what is going to happen next before any decision is made about further treatment, I say further but there hasn't been any treatment yet????

    Recently I had reason to contact the surgery for concerns I had about Skin problem on my Back, I rang the surgery at 8.30am on the Monday morning and I was fifteen in line, after a short time the receptionist answered and was very polite and helpful, she asked me what my concerns were and I told her, after short while she asked would I be prepared to see a Nurse practioner to which I replied yes,she gave me a appointment for 10.40am that day I duly saw the nurse who once again was very polite and helpful, after looking at my concerns he said he would refer me to the Halliwell Jones Medical hub, that same day at Lunchtime I got a phone cal from Helliwell Jones offering me a appointment with Consultant the following FRiday this was followed up by confirmation letter the following day, I duly saw the consultant who looked at the area I was concerned about, but also looked at other area of concern he noticed, which I had not mentioned, he said these areas needed treatment and he would do it straight away and book me in for follow up. I can only say we have been with Penketh Health centre as a family for 50 years although we have seen many changes in the NHS overthis time yes and in our own health centre But can I express my sincere thank you to Penketh Health Centre and their staffs and Helliwell Jones staff this is the NHS working as a team we do hear lots of adverse comments about our health service but it is something we should value so once again can I say thank you for the excellent service I received on this occasion and all other times with Penketh Health centre.

  6. Review titled Phone Calls

    They don't even answer the phone and forbid you to just turn up so the service they provide is not acceptable. A recent phone appointment was due to be between 5pm and 8pm and the call was not within this time . The call was received at 9pm at night !!!

    Doctor sent prescription to the wrong place after he asked me where I wanted it to go to. Whilst feeling very poorly to be told I had to sort it myself and the reception response was I cannot comment I am not the doctor leaves a very bad experience and not at all helpful when you are unwell.
