I have been with surgery for some years now. Since COVID, the services been provided have nose dived terribly. For example, getting an appointment with the Surgery have been impossible, unless they get in touch and invite someone. When I noticed a symptom I should relate to a doctor, it is impossible to get an appointment. Because of the stress in getting appointment, one is learning to live with potentially life threatening symptoms. I set an alarm to be able to call at the specified 8am this morning. I started calling randomly 7:55am. Eventually, at 8am on the dot, I was put on a queue as no 27 (seems this is done by Russian roulette). After about 30 minutes, I got through to the Receptionist who told me all available appointments for the day have gone, and would I like to be sent a link for telephone consultation. I was crying. I felt being taking for a ride and instantly developed a terrible headache. I just replied thank you and got off the line. It will be far more simple and stress free if the surgery simply declare that they are no more booking appointments through the telephone. They make me feel stupid to expect anything better, this not being the first time. When I woke up early getting ready to call the surgery at their specified time, my wife told me, out of experience that I am wasting my time, she was proofing right.
