  1. Review titled Great experience

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Claire - Posted on 08 April 2024

I had an appointment last week for my Asthma review last week. I thought the paramedic I saw was brilliant. He took the time to listen to me, and more importantly I felt listened to. He thoroughly check everything over, in regards to my asthma. He gave me recommendations for a future plan with my asthma and included my thoughts with this. I felt we made this plan together rather than being dictated to. I know it’s not often that we receive compliments, but I wanted to share this with the management team at Parkfield and highlight I’m really pleased that someone like him is part of the Parkfield team.

Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback. I'm pleased to say we have taken the feedback regarding the difficulties in booking appointments onboard and recently implemented an Online Triage System which is helping us offer sooner appointments. Unfortunately as this is an anonymous post I am unable to look into your concerns regarding not receiving a call from the GP but if you wish to contact me at the surgery so I can investigate this further. Kind regards Rachel Practice Manager

  3. Review titled Interaction with member of staff

    by Daughter1942 - Posted on 22 December 2023

Probably the worst person and the most rudest operator. I didn't catch their name, as they said it too fast. Waiting for almost 24h rs to get a call back, finally got a call back and spoken to by someone who not only didn't understand but refused to listen and spoke all over me. Asked what if that was their mum - they then told me to stop getting personal. I never swore, never commented on them, only asked what if that was their mum.... trying to get them to see where I was coming from. Threatened to cut me off - even though I wasn't rude, asked to speak to someone else, refused. Probably the worst, unsympathetic person I have ever spoken to - let's hope they don't experience the same level of bad service they gave to me. I called back - waiting 1 hr on the phone in a queue of 25, finally spoke to a lovely member of staff, who apologised on their colleague's behalf, and told me everything will be OK. 5 mins later got a call off a doctor, saying that they'd be at the nursing home the next day, as they always make a visit. I could discuss the rude operator with doctor then. Didn't feel as though the doctor had listened to me, as they thought I was my 81-year-old mum's mother - well that would be a miracle - made me laugh, but at the same time, have a feeling that the rude operator had asked the doctor to call me - however, would suggest that the management listen to the call - judge for themselves who was rude and inappropriate and would they have threatened to terminate the call?

  4. Review titled Good Surgery

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Tara - Posted on 26 June 2023

Parkfields Medical Centre, receives some negative reviews but my family’s experience of the surgery has been faultless. Yes, no one answers the phones at 08.00... the call back service is beneficial but, by the time you receive a call back there are no appointments. However, the doctors, health care practitioners, pharmacist and nurses are superb. Doctor Hussain is incredible. Not only has she given concern of my health she is also lovely to speak with at every appointment. It is rare to find a doctor that combines such care for a patient. This doctor has outstanding quality of medical care. .Appointment system needs to be improved. .There should be appointments before 08.00, early evening Saturdays especially if you work. Patients have received an email: To get involved with the practice to make suggestions. Patients should get involved.

Dear Tara Thank you for your positive feedback. I'm please to see that you are benefiting from the call back system although appreciate we may have reached appointment capacity by the time you are called. We have recently introduced Online triage to try to resolve some of the previous issues surrounding booking appointments. We do offer evening and weekend appointments at another Health & Beyond sites - Bilston Urban Village so please do ask if those appointments would be more suitable. I will pass your lovely comments about Dr Hussain to her, I'm sure she will happy to hear this. Many thanks Rachel - Practice Manager

The Press 1 call back appointment is excellent and saves time holding on in a queue. I have always found the staff and Doctors / practitioners helpful and approachable.

  7. Review titled No longer a patient here…

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Luce - Posted on 11 April 2024

I went to this practice for 17 years and it just got worse and worse. I needed my Hep-B injection and was able to get this done for free due to being 17. Had my first dose all fine, booked in my second dose and was given an appointment at Parkfield and has a message to confirm this. When I arrived they told me my appointment wasn’t there and was actually at woodcross, the receptionist was rude (as she always is). Finally booked another appointment and went for this, only for the nurse to tell me I’d been given a children’s dosage of Hep-B and had to start the process again. (Messing up my dosage) Therefore I changed practice to the Northway and luckily they were helpful and sorted me out Finally. Just to point out I was also never able to book a appointment for anything I had to go to the walk in centre instead everytime, and the receptionist who’s been there for a few years has always been nothing but rude even when it was them who messed up! I don’t usually moan but this was just the final straw for me.

  8. Review titled worst g.p surgery!!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Stephanie - Posted on 12 April 2023

I have been using this g.p surgery since birth! I'm now 40 & absolutely disgusted with the lack of care given here. 1hour & 30minutes I've been waiting for someone to answer the phone & this is a regular thing not a one off! I haven't got time to wait that long while I'm at work & need to get my child seen by a doctor! I was told by a so called Health Practitioner that my child has "Dry Skin" & she was scratching at my child's sore skin with her nail! I was then prescribed an Antibiotic cream for this so called dry skin!! I've now registered with a new doctors to which my child's going tomorrow to find out what it is all in her hair as her Dad suffers with psoriasis & it looks like that start of it & it's spread even more in her hair. If it comes back as psoriasis or Exzema then I'll be taking it further. Absolutely disgusted in their service, there's no care there at all & your out within minutes as they've not got the time to listen to you! Can't ever get an appointment as they're fully booked yet you walk in the surgery & the waiting rooms empty!!

  9. Review titled Worst GP Practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 December 2022

You called me today and cancelled my appointment due to staff sickness. It was very difficult to get an appointment in the first place, then you cancel without offering any resolution. I get told to ring back in the morning at 8am and start the whole process again. I always start ringing as soon as phones open and after waiting an hour to speak to someone am told there are no appointments try again the following day or go to the walk in clinic. In the last months if I have needed medical help I have had to go to the walk in clinic and wait several hours on each occasion because my own GP practice never have appointments and this is despite it now being part of a group of surgeries in the area and claiming to have have a better appointment system in place. I am not someone who normally even goes to the doctors as wherever possible I will manage my health with over the counter medication, but over the last few months I have needed help from the GP and have not been able to get it. I have been with this GP service for over 20 years and have seen it deteriorate. I will be looking to change my GP service as soon as possible.......there is no point in staying with a practice when they refuse to see you and choose always to point you towards the walk in centre.

  10. Review titled Over subscribed & poorly run

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 December 2022

We attempted to get our young son an appointment 3 days running. We spent a total of 5 hours on the phone. We finally managed to speak to a receptionist on the 3rd day. Sadly she was extremely dismissive after informing us there was no more appointments. The get out response is "call 111" All we needed was a 5 minute telephone call with a doctor/nurse so our poorly boy could be administered some antibiotics. We had to make do with over the counter purchases to get him through. Please avoid - we have begun the process of moving surgery as we do not want to risk our families health.
