    Whilst my visits to the doctors have been ok the dispensary is a dreadful experience, every time I go to collect a prescription it is 45 - 60 minute wait at minimum to be served with no sense of urgency from the staff and never any apologies for the wait. There is a take a ticket number system in place but it seems patients coming from an appointment can jump the queue making the wait even longer for those who are just popping in to grab a prescription.

The ticketing system is in place to help manage the flow of patients fairly, but we acknowledge that it can feel disheartening when it appears that others are being seen ahead. Patients coming directly from appointments may sometimes be prioritised due to clinical urgency or time-sensitive medication needs, but we absolutely take your concerns seriously and will review how we communicate and manage this process to ensure greater transparency and fairness.     I phoned @ 8.30am this morning and was given an appointment with a Senior Doctor at 16.00 the same day. After a full examination - a course of treatment was recommended with a follow up appointment if required. I left and within 15 mins my Prescription was available . This is not a one-off. This is the standard Ouse Valley Practice have offered - from Reception, Nursing, the Doctors and Pharmacy to me and my wife over many years. Thank you.

    I phoned for an on the day appointment. I did have to wait a long time to get through but was persistent. The receptionist ( on the morning if 27/11/24) was very helpful and kind and did her best to find me an appointment which I really appreciated.

    I had been very nervous about my appointment and very tearful. Dr wax so kind, patient and understanding, I left the surgery with such a feeling of relief that I had managed to convey my symptoms and had been encouraged to take my time and felt listened to. Thank you.

    This review is for the pharmacy. There has been no consideration for people that work full-time when they changed the opening ours. More often than not my medication is not ready, even after receiving a message to collect, often being ask to come back on another day. Requests that are made do not get received. There is always an excuse, short staffed, sickness... The service is not fir for purpose.

    Dear Anonymous, Thank you for taking the time to write to us about the issues that you have expereinced, and can I apologise for the distress this may have caused you. Our opening times used to be 8.30am - 6pm but due to the workload we have changed them to have the dispensary opened at 9am - 5.30am, if you have come in to collect your medication and the shutter at the dispensary is down, you can always go to the receptionist and they will ask one of the dispensers to help you. We only send messages for collection when all the medication is ready for the patient to collect, so I am unable to comment on why this has happened, but I will speak to the dispensary manager about this. Any requests that are received into the dispensary are dealt with. Sadly it is not an excuse but we do have sickness and this will obviously cause problems in the department if we do not have a full team on for the day. Kind regards Practice Manager

    This is aparticular referral to the Dispensary who as a Team that although currently operating under staffing shortages - still maintained for me a 100% Patient service with my Prescription Renewal today 30SEP24 - thank you

    I was diagnosed with cancer at my hospital appointment last Thursday I rang the surgery to ask for an appointment to speak to a doctor, I was told I would have to ring every morning to get one. Or I could wait and I would be able to speak with a doctor on the phone which would be a week.Well here we are on Monday and guess what they finally sent me a choice of appointments,wondering why it took days and the earliest appointment is on the 18th so 13 days after diagnosis. Obviously it’s not important nor am I.

    Having been given a prescription at A&E recently, I needed it to continue. I had such good service from the Receptionist at the surgery, who made sure the prescription would be continued and be available when my original one ran out. I was very grateful for her help and hope she reads this!
