Review titled Appalling appointment booking system
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 26 August 2023
My experience is similar to that of the patient who posted comments on 14 August. A doctor at the practice has specified that I require a face to face appointment with a doctor. When I rang reception to book, I was advised that the only bookable appointments are in October. I am required to ring the practice at 8.00am each morning until I am successful in booking an on the day appointment, should I wish to see any doctor before October. Trying to get an on the day appointment entails lengthy waits on the phone, sometimes being cut off, eventually getting through to reception to be told that the day's appointments are all booked. I understand that earlier this year nhs England made contact with all General Practices and advised that; - the 8.00 am appointment scramble must stop and patients must not be repeatedly told to ring back day after day at 8.00am to try and secure an appointment. - all patients must be offered an appointment with or referral to a healthcare professional within 2 weeks of their initial approach. Clearly, Oughtibridge Surgery sets its own rules about patient contact and ignores the stipulations of nhs England. I am so concerned about this matter that I am considering raising complaints with my Member ofParliament (Miriam Cates), the Health Secretary and nhs England. I am also considering a move to another general practice.

Review titled Trying to book an appointment
by Bossdog - Posted on 14 August 2023
At the start of August was told there were no appointments until mid September, but after a further look the receptionist said they were unable to book ANY appointment for me and my only choice was to call at 8:00am (when the line is always busy). The reason I was told they couldn’t book an appointment was because they didn't know when the Doctors want there holidays. If my blood pressure was high before it certainly is now.
