Review titled Frustrating
Rated 2 stars out of 5

The staff and Dr's are lovely, however the whole appointment system is geared to those who do not work. I was 15 in the queue this morning and still could not get an appointment. An appointment the Dr has requested that I make! So be aware,if like me you work Monday to Friday 0730 -1800 you have zero chance unless you take time off work and then go to the Dr's to queue at 0730/0745 for them to open at 0800 to have a slim possibility of actually getting an appointment.

Review titled E-Consult is a facade
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 23 April 2024
Orrell Park uses receptionists to triage e-consults. The majority of those times, you receive a message rebuffing you, telling you "Call for an appointment tomorrow at 8am". Of course, you then can't get through the next day. They don't just make the appointment there and then if you have alerted the surgery to your health concern? What is the point of using e-consult, for the staff or patients? The website looks very modern and technological, but the practice uses none of the services that it states it does! It's very misleading. Only one time did I receive a prescription from a nurse by sending a not very nice image of my illness and specifically stating what medication I believed I needed. I really felt uncomfortable sending a photo to an unqualified receptionist to see. Another issue is I have tried to inform this surgery of pregnancies twice. The first time the receptionist shouted across the desk "what do we do with pregnant people?" to a colleague, then told me to go to the women's hospital without bothering to even take my details. I subsequently lost that pregnancy early on, and felt like I couldn't speak to a GP about it because they had nothing on file and the receptionists didn't even know what to do! For my current pregnancy, I had to be told by the hospital, that it is the GP surgery I will have my midwife appointments at. I would expect to be given this information when I speak to a receptionist about pregnancy related matters. All in all, this surgery is the worst I've had the misfortune to register with. The only positive aspect is the ability to see the wonderful asthma nurse.

Review titled Shocking
Rated 2 stars out of 5

It is ridiculous to have to call at 8am to make an appointment with the GP to get blood test results, only for the calls never to be answered. I called 100times today at 8am and the phone is busy!!!! Just to get your blood test results. Why this insane practise? NHS needs to scrap this crazy rule and have a better system.

Review titled Online Registration means nothing
Rated 1 star out of 5

I was initially pleased to have such a new experience, completed all the online registration forms, had a phone call to confirm the details had been received and to bring in ID and proof of address. Went into the practice with the items needed, only to be handed exactly the same forms to re-complete. So far, poor experience and questioning if I wish to continue registering with this practice.

Review titled No idea if they are good as can’t get an appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Lynn Farram - Posted on 23 June 2023
Have been trying to get an appointment for two months thankfully I’m not dying or anything! The system is ridiculous. I want to be able to book an appointment for a day in the future but no only that day if you call at 8am which you do day after day after day and no joy. How would this work for someone ill or struggling? Disgraceful. Might be an amazing doctors surgery! I’m looking for peri menopause help advice and possibly medication to help me navigate that and so am not unwell exactly. I cannot get near to getting an appointment at this place, thank God I’m not trying to get a lump checked out. Free up some non urgent appointments I would happily wait weeks into months. Already on month 2 of phoning on my days off… are there even doctors in the building?

Review titled Awful practice
Rated 1 star out of 5

Went on their website, I was well within their catchment area, went through the trouble of completing their online registration form, only to be told I’m outside their area. When I called and asked why I was outside the area when I’m only .8 miles away and within their area online, they told me “that’s just what we’ve been told”. They then suggested I try Aintree, which is actually farther away. When I pointed this out they said “if that’s what you say”. What a joke.

Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 19 July 2022
I was waiting for a call from the doctor between 3pm and 4pm. Needless to say I didn't receive my call. I rang reception and they couldn't tell me what time I would get a call back. I waited and waited nil response. Terrible service.
