    I am a man of over 60 and wanted to arrange some routine blood tests appropriate for my age. My previous surgery had proactively contacted me for this reason. However I'm now registered with Observatory Practice, and when I sent them an e-consult to ask for the same tests, they wanted instead to arrange a phone call with a doctor. I arranged this, but they then cancelled it because of a staffing issue and asked me to go through the whole process again. All a totally unnecessary waste of time!

    Hello I am Jon Frank, the practice manager at Observatory. I am sorry that you felt that we let you down though from the details you have given me, this is the correct procedure. Patients cannot just book themselves in for a blood test - they need to discuss it with a GP first so the GP can add the request on to the system with the correct tests. The only exception to this is if the patient is on a recall list and has a diary reminder in place but I do not have your details so cannot check if this was the case. I am sorry that the appointment with the GP had to be cancelled, but like any organisation, people do sometimes get sick, and there is nothing we can do about this.     Simply the best reception nurses and Dr caring in every way to both myself and my husband Always try their best to get appointment polite and very efficient

    I have never come across such rude, cruel and unprofessional receptionists in my life. Every interaction I have had with them has been upsetting and unproductive. They do their best to make you feel stupid and unwelcome. Something as simple as refilling a prescription becomes a battle. It seems as if university students in particular are targeted by the receptionists as no-one I know has had a positive experience with them. I would rather travel home than have one more interaction with these people.

    On several recent contacts with the practice, the receptionists were polite and very helpful, as were the two doctors who saw me at short notice and treated me.

    I'd like to thank the practice for helping my young adult son on 29 December. You must have been so busy after the bank holidays. I called early morning and got through quickly to a polite, helpful receptionist who took the info on our problem and said a GP would call back. Within 45 minutes we had had a call from a friendly efficient GP and got treatment sent to the pharmacy. He had been really ill for many days and this made a huge difference. I'm very grateful for your care, thank you all.

    I arrived at the practice without an appointment this morning Friday 20th. I had a specific concern regarding an unexpected symptom. I was seen by the Duty Doctor within 20 minutes. He was reassuring and kind. Thank you.

I would add, for anyone reading this, that we will always deal with an issue on the day, should a clinician deem it appropriate. We would generally recommend that a patient calls in and details their issue with reception so that a clinician can call them back if necessary, rather than attending the practice without an appointment.     I first met my Doctor back in 2015 and have received outstanding care ever since. I suffer with a severe medical condition that has resulted in me needing to visit the practice on multiple occasions. On every visit, my GP has shown me the most incredible compassion, kindness and understanding. My GP has always gone above and beyond to help and support me, including successfully referring me for an urgent Laparoscopy in 2019 despite the department not accepting any new referrals at the time. In 2020 my GP was also involved in the care of my Father, who very sadly passed away at home just three weeks after his cancer diagnosis. My GP telephoned me and my immediate family individually the same day to check how we all were and offered to chat whenever we needed it. Just six months later, my GP was involved in the care of my Mother who had also been diagnosed with cancer. I have submitted numerous e-consults with my GP over the last few months, they have all been delt with incredibly quickly. I'm convinced that my GP must me fed up with seeing my name pop up on the computer screen.

    It is always a pleasure to go to this surgery. It is pleasant, airy, well staffed, and very efficiently organised. You rarely have to wait for your appointment, and all the staff who I have encountered have been extremely empathetic, and helpful.

    Registered with practice 9 years - never sent for health check up - 3 months with new practice and surprised no checkup carried out so immediate appointment. One Daughter’s blood test -12 weeks from first requesting to results. Another daughter with iron issues only half results sent through ( it was on two pages). Doctors good , some doctors brilliant, nurses lovely but coordination admin chaotic and time wasting for both doctors and patients.

    Phlebotomist is the best I’ve ever seen! Very caring and careful! Always concerned about my experience and asked about my pregnancy each week! Wonderful person and extremely skilled phlebotomist!!! I owe her a coffee!
