  1. Review titled Unable to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 April 2023

Terrible serive and level of care!! Received a message a week ago from the surgery to get an appointment regarding my results. Since then i've now rung them twice (30+ minute calls) "all appointments have gone" Been in the surgery 3 times was told "all the appointments have gone" and on the 3rd time, You cant come in to book an appointment you should do it on the phone, but was told to ring them after the bank holiday as they will have 1 and only 1 appointment available for the doctor i need to see. Phoned today, 17th in the queue, what a surpise all the appointments have gone. So i guess i give up now as im wasting my time trying and put my life in their hands.

  2. Review titled Chronic pain not taken seriously and no apts!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Jacqueline Ventham - Posted on 17 January 2023

I saw the GP end of last year about chronic and severe lower back pain that has been getting gradually worse over the last couple of years. I asked for an xray as it does not feel muscular. Refered for physio, who said I should take up pilates!! I am not lazy or inactive and have been made to fele like this pain is my fault. The physio said it is probably due to damage from an old injury and if I had an xray or MRI it would probably just show more issues than expected and lead to further treatments. Isn't that the point? I am now finding it impossible to get an apt to see GP to ask again for an xray. Meanwhile i'm in a lot of pain, all of the time, and pilates is not going to help. I expect this pain to be taken seriously and be written off as back pain due to inactivity when it is clearly the other way around. I will try again to call through and get an apt but I am not hopeful that my back will ever be properly looked at or treated. This is not good enough.

  3. Review titled Very disappointed in the care received!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 January 2023

I saw a Dr here in November. Basically I wanted some counselling as I'd been going through a lot lately with personal problems. The Dr said I'd be referred for counselling in November. Went in today to chase it up, 13th of January 2023 a referral still hasn't been made by the Doctor, you would think mental health would be important. My partner also had to chase up today her referral for autism diagnosis from May, we handed the Doctor the Forms we was asked to fill out back in May. January 2023 they are still on the Doctors desk and haven't even been sent off. Disappointing service!

  5. Review titled Worse it’s becoming

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Patrick Tobin - Posted on 26 November 2022

I called the surgery on the 17/11/2022 at 10am and waited for a half an hour to try and book a pre bookable appointment to be told after getting through to call back Monday 21/11/2022 at 10am. I proceeded to call back on Monday the 21/11/22 at 10am and waited another half an hour to be told there was only a few issued and they are all gone I was then told to call back on Tuesday 22/11/22 got through after 15mins to be told they only do on the day. But I was then questioned by the receptionist why I want to see the doctor and I stated my care needed reviewing and she had the audacity to say you have a consultant appointment in January I told her I was aware of this and it’s the GP I need to see as they are responsible for my ultimate care. I work away and try to manage appointments on a Monday or Friday. I’m horrified to think that an untrained person now has the right to tell people if they can or cannot visit a GP very disappointed that I am led to write this!

  6. Review titled Terrible Physiotherapist advice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Patrick Tobin - Posted on 27 November 2022

I was under the care of consultants who asked my GP to be referred to the physio at Northdown. The patient care I received was poor. I was told to not do any exercise contrary to what the consultant said. In general the lack of interest was appealing.

  7. Review titled Unreliable practice

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Julie Davis - Posted on 30 September 2022

My appointment was 30/9/22 at 11.10am which was booked by a receptionist who told me that by new rules that were in place I did not need to see a doctor and therefore she booked me in to see a nurse. This appointment was booked nearly a month ago and I am frustrated that upon going to the doctors I get called up to the receptionist only to be told that the nurse had told the receptionist that she couldn't see me about my HRT check! Why after this length of time this had not been spotted and an alternative appointment had been made really concerns me? As the endless amount of time is spent trying to get through to the doctors on the phone is astonishing! Also the fact that at the drop of a hat they pulled out a new appointment for me for Monday of the following week! I am upset that I was put in the position that I took out my frustration on the receptionist who is clearly not to blame! I am also feeling annoyed that because I had made time for this appointment and that the opportunity to have a break away from Saturday to Monday has now been ruined as I now need to make time for the appointment on Monday to make sure that I get my HRT that I need, so that I don't run out! At the surgery they had a trained nurse practitioner with regards to perimenopause, menopause and HRT. She was fantastic and seeing her on a monthly basis you knew you was being looked after and she cared! Sadly now that she has left the knowledge that anyone has at the surgery regarding perimenopause, menopause and HRT is zero, and the care and compassion is not there anymore! Believe me right now I feel that I would indeed love to transfer to another surgery if the opportunity arose, knowing that I would receive a better quality of service! This surgery staff certainly needs to be trained so that they can give the quality of care needed for menopausal ladies as it can be a very distressing time for us, I know that there has been opportunities for surgeries to receive free training for this. But they clearly don't put this as an important matter on the agenda!

  8. Review titled tragic service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Paul S. Stephenson - Posted on 26 July 2022

I had an emergency appointment, lots of blood where it shouldn't be. Dr was good, sent me for blood test and stool sample. submitted sample with wrong paperwork, (has 'Blood sciences on it, I assumed it was for blood test) I discovered error and could not verify from pathology my sample was accepted. They told me they would tell my doctor or their receptionist. So I went back to my surgery and explained. I was told they were too busy to do that for me. With the blood coming from there I was naturally worried and believed it should be investigated sooner rather than later. The only method of finding out was through the surgery, who were too busy to help. So I am to believe receptionist are qualified to make this judgement? We are asked to share info with them, why? I would have thought blood from my fundamental orifice was significant, as the public information films on TV would imply. To complain at the time just gets you thrown out, zero tolerance and all that.

  9. Review titled Need to re-train receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 May 2022

One receptionist was dismissive and condescending. Practice manager needs to give extra training to this particular staff not to raise their voice and treat us like we’re beneath her. It was not even our fault that the appointment was messed up.

  10. Review titled Having to review again

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Patrick Tobin - Posted on 08 May 2022

Unfortunately I am reviewing this practice again because the practice manager is also not helping my issue. On the 08th of April a letter was sent from the out of hours doctor advising the Surgery to refer me to the orthopaedic clinic so I called on the 21st of April and a receptionist said the GP was on holidays and she would put a not on my file. So I called back Friday 06th of may and I was told I’m not a priority bearing in mind I cannot carry out my daily activities I’m in dire pain daily and a receptionist is dealing with my care. Apperantly the GP won’t be in until Thursday the 12th of May. I’ve an MRI scan report they also need to discuss and I really don’t know where to turn the lack of care for their patients is beyond me I will be contacting my MP next if this is not sorted I shouldn’t have to wait this long with lack of response snd a receptionist triaging this is not what I signed up for in this surgery.
