    This will be the 3rd time in less than 12 months. I have done as the surgery request. Wrote out my repeat prescription request and posted it in the box which is in the corridor. I waited for the usual text from the chemist to say prescription ready for collection. Got fed up waiting so rang the chemist - guess what - surgery have not bothered to complete the request. Will have to travel to the surgery again. Wondering if they will notice my request if I tie it to a helium balloon and leave it at the reception - probably not as they are always to busy chatting to each other.

    I have only been attending this doctors for 6 months and needed their service 3 times. First time was telephone consult and they didn’t send prescription over as stated, and couldn’t rectify until after the weekend. Then I had booked an appointment but when I arrived it hadn’t been booked. They had booked for the wrong patient and luckily could be seen. Third time waiting over 45 minutes with no patients.

    I attempted to call today to confirm my partners appointment as they have failed to actually log them in the past. Spent 25 minutes with it ringing only to drive to the doctors whilst still ringing to find all 3 people on reception laughing and flirting with a patient. I eventually got someone’s attention to be rudely told that I should have called for something like this and that it takes time for them to deal with me in person and it interferes with other patients. I left my phone outside ringing this whole time and found it still ringing when I got back to my car. The doctors are great when you can get in front of them but the receptionists seem to act like gatekeepers asking your ailments to see if you’re deemed worthy. NHS is struggling deeply and in all honesty the frontline receptionists here contribute to that difficulty. Will be moving doctors due to this being the last straw. I know it can’t be all the staff but there has been far to many issues caused by the receptionists to not move at this point.

  4. Review titled Repeat Prescription Requests

    Each month I complete my repeat prescription request and one for another member of my family. I do this either using the repeat prescription sheets which are included with the the previous months meds from the chemist or on 2 separate sheets of paper which are folded separately so obvious to staff there are 2 different patients requests. The past 2 months mine have been provided but the the other member of my family has not. I then have to request this again. More visits, more travel costs. It concerns me greatly if staff can be so irresponsible and mislay highly confidential information from the post box in the surgery corridor to the reception area who is getting their hands on it? This has happened for the past 2 months now. I will not go in and complain but I will write an official letter re: where is our confidential information going. Data Protection is definitely not being put into practice at this surgery.

    After going to the walk in centre and being told to go to my doctors as they don't do blood tests, I couldn't get an appointment for weeks and the receptionist giggled saying I would probably be feeling better by then. They can't see their patients for weeks but they are still taking new patients. Totally disgusted.

    Took 88 minutes to answer my phone. No appointments available for the whole week, asked to turn up and they will squeeze me in. When I turned up reception staff told me there was only one locum doctor in who was out on a visit. Reception staff very rude, and loud, and laughing and joking without doing any work. Completely empty place with maybe one nurse alone. No regular GP's all locums now. No point in staying in this practice its very very unsafe.

    I phoned the practice this morning at about 08:25am, I got straight through to a friendly receptionist who asked me a few questions regarding the issue. She booked me an appointment to see a nurse practitioner this afternoon at 2:15pm. The appointment was about 15 minutes behind, which was not too bad. The nurse practitioner was extremely thorough, he prescribed me some medication and referred me for additional treatment. The nurse was friendly and put me at ease. My experience was positive, I was advised that they have been taken over by new management recently and I just wanted to share my positive experience.

    Found a lump under arm, phoned couple of days on the run and like all previous reviews was told no appointments left phone again tomorrow. Receptionists are the worst staff ever, rude, ignorant and don't know what they are talking about. In the end I went down there in person, explained the situation. I was told to go to A&E, this was not what I would call an emergency (not breathing properly, cutting your arm off, standing on a nail etc to me is an accident or emergency). I know the difference so why don't the receptionists understand the difference. On a previous time I was having bloods done and the phone was going constantly for all the staff saying there were no appointments left. There wasn't 1 single other person in the waiting room!!!! They have had a big refurbishment costing over a million pound and nobody gets to see it. Before covid you could call into the surgery in the morning and get an appointment, they can't keep blaming covid now, do they not know there are no restrictions now. Doctors are really good so if I where them I would leave the practice and go somewhere that the Receptionist don't treat the patients like stupid imbeciles, or better still sack the staff, go back to open appointments and get yourself off the bottom of the list for worst practice in Bootle. No wonder the NHS is in crises when you have patients being told to go to A&E for a cold. The practice should be fined evertime they do this.

    Very rare that you can get through via telephone. Most times you do, you are told to call back next day at 8am, only to repeat the process. Had results of a procedure waiting, reception team denied knowledge of them, told to call hospital. Hospital informed me that the results had already been sent through. Called GP, when finally got through, told doctor hadnt looked at them and would get a callback. Results been waiting a while. Surgery clearly has more patients than it can handle and never offers advanced booking, only same day if you are lucky to get one.
