  1. Review titled Most helpful telephone receptionist

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Evangelyn - Posted on 30 April 2024

The persons answering the phone are so helpful and pleasant. They make the whole experience very straightforward and manage to solve any problems. The lady that dealt with me today was both professional and friendly and even wished me a nice holiday ( because I had to book an appointment to fit in with the holiday). I have also previously ( this month) spoken to the pharmacist who was also very helpful and solved my problem with appropriate medication. I could not find fault with anything.

Easy to book an appointment on the day, pleasant reception staff. Was examined thoroughly, a test was taken to be sent off to see if medication was required. Very good experience.

  4. Review titled Going down hill

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Kirstie Foster - Posted on 06 June 2022

They used to be great and fairly easy to get into but since covid it's like mission impossible to see a GP took me 134 attempts of ringing to get through to the reception only to be told no appointments left that day try again tomorrow, unless it's an emergency. They also took off the Saturday surgery so anyone who works 12 hour shifts during the week can no longer see the doctor unless they prebook a day off. Most of the appointments are Telephone appointments so when you do get 1 you don't actually see a doctor in person it's as if they are scared of patients now very poor service

Thank you for your review. A lot changed during the pandemic but the surgery is returning to as normal a service as possible. If you do have a telephone appt the GP will then assess during the consultation if a face to face is necessary and if so will arrange that, usually the same day. Demand is very high at the moment and unfortunately we are still suffering from illness due to covid and some days we are short staffed in regards to admin/clinical staff. Saturday surgeries are now available and patient online offers the possibility to book appts n advance. Please ask at reception for details.

Hello and thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you have not been able to get another appointment. We have had periods when we have been short of GP's due to holidays and covid but do keep trying. It can sometimes be more beneficial to phone later in the day, especially if you don't need an 'on the day' appt. Also, it may be easier to book with one of our Nurse Practitioners who are able to prescribe and refer as necessary. PCSE deliver medical records on a weekly basis. Next time you contact the practice, check if we have received them or not. If not, we may be able to get a summary from your previous GP.
