I always receive a phone call on the same day when I use the eConsult as I did on this occasion. The GP referred me straightaway for the treatment I required and I was then contacted by the surgery the next day as they had a cancellation. All the staff I encountered were excellent and I really feel they should be commended.

My mum has been a patient at Newton Road for many years and she has had amazing care. Sadly, in the the last few years my sisters and I have found that there is no joined up thinking or holistic approach to the care my mum receives. She is 87 and suffers from chronic pain from arthritis, as well as other ailments that she receives medication for. She manages the pain with patches and this was fine until they decided to change the patch. This is because they are worried about her liver and kidneys. They have now changed her blood pressure pills too. She now doesn't sleep and as she says, Im 87, I just want to be out of pain. From being a very gregarious independent lady, it seems she has lost the will and can't be bothered with anything. This is ridiculous. Why can they not leave things when they are working, or if they are worried look at the patient as a whole and how the changes will affect her. She has complete capacity, but they are not listening to her. I have now stepped in to try and advocate for her, but it is obviously very difficult to get an appointment and you cannot talk to anyone. There isn't even an email that you can contact the surgery with to express your concerns. Hence me writing on this. I would very much like to talk to someone that could possibly help me get to the bottom of this. My fear is that my mother will be so tired she will fall and end up in hospital. My mother would in all likelihood not come out and this would cost the NHS a lot more in the long run!

Review titled Seamless, professional and caring coil change

I had my coil changed on 3rd October 2023. This was my first coil change so I was a little nervous going in to the appointment.the Dr and chaperone really put my mind at ease, explained the procedure fully and again at each step. All I can say is, wow and thank you! You reassured me, made sure I was comfortable throughout and I have to add, I didn't experience pains anywhere near what I had imagined. The only feeling I had was a very mild discomfort woth the old coil being taken away, but that was very minimal. The Dr did also find a cyst on my cervix at the time of the coil exchange, and has done a referral for swabs to be taken but assured me it doesn't look like it is anything nasty, but she wanted to be safe and have it checked. Thank you all staff at Newton Place!! You're truly amazing
