  1. Review titled Terrible surgery

Sick of having to use an e-consult between set hours of the day (often opening at the school run drop off and then nothing available when I get back.) Haven’t seen an actual doctor in years. Sick of being told by the pharmacy they haven’t gotten my repeat prescription request despite me having sent it via the online portal properly and being told by the surgery “I don’t know why it didn’t go through.” Sick of being fobbed off about my reproductive issues (mainly to do with entering peri-menopause and adenmyosis) and just being left to get on with it in limbo. Sick of no one actually bothering to review my use of antidepressants which has been going on for years when I actually would like assistance in coming off them eventually. I just keep getting the prescription filled out month in, month out and no one bothering to perhaps invite me for a consultation to see how I am (those suffering mental health problems often find it hard to reach out.) But just keep authorising that script ay! When I moved to the village about 8 years ago, this surgery was brilliant. Really attentive and understanding. It’s gone downhill so badly now that I hate having to use it. Last year I had a horrific ear infection that spread down my jaw and made my face swell up. I was given an appointment to see the nurse at a different location who just gave me a spray which did nothing. I was self medicating every two hours through the night to keep the edge off and in utter agony. Rang 111 the next day who told me to ring the surgery as soon as it opened, which I did. Spoke to the receptionist and explained the situation and was told “we don’t have any more appointments.” Couldn’t have cared what 111 had said. I had to make a complaint to get noticed, get antibiotics and the treatment I needed. Useless.

  2. Review titled Can’t get seen

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Really unhappy with this surgery. Have tried to get my 10 month old daughter seen on two separate occasions but they insist on “diagnosing” and prescribing over the phone. However they’ve made me attend twice following a e-consult and on both occasions told me I didn’t need to be seen when I turned up. Where’s the logic? Surely babies are a priority to be seen?

  3. Review titled Shambles

I emailed about an issue which whilst non urgent was still important to me. I was offered a phone consultation in 6 weeks !! If they are that busy they need more staff. Don’t even try to get hold of the practice manager, I am not sure he even exists. I have sent him 2/3 emails all of which I have had to chase up for replies. If this was a “business” all the management would be deemed inadequate and moved on - do they have any accountability. Feel sorry for the staff on board a captain less ship. There must be older patients who are unable to literally fight to get an appointment - assume the GP’s are still getting well paid for a failing system

  4. Review titled Excellent service and advice.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I visited the practice nurse in July and had the results of a diabetes test. I was given medication to control the problem but this proved difficult to take, for a number of reasons. The nurse took a lot of time to give me advice and dietary information as well as showing me websites for me to research. I took this advice away and began to make the dietary and lifestyle changes suggested by the nurse. The results have been fantastic. I had a follow up appointment after 3 months and any diabetes markers have significantly reduced and my weight has dropped by 15kgs. I cannot stress enough that it was the way that the nurse took the time to explain things and the specific suggestions that she made that has made all the difference. Top marks for sure. I am very grateful for the whole team at New Lyminge Surgery and in particular, the nurse that has got me on to my current lifestyle path.

  5. Review titled Terrible Practice

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 April 2024

You can never get to actually see a doctor at this practice anymore, which is so disappointing. E-Consults you end up with a different doctor every time and my last experience I was told I am referring to a 10 page script and what do you want to do. The doctor seemed totally uninterested. I have been told 3 different things on 3 different occasions, I have now completely given up. This used to be a good practice, but sadly not any more. I have even had a text message to confirm a E-consult which I never requested and trying to convince the practice I didn’t complete the request was hard work. I had to ask the name of the person who the message was for, and then they admitted it was wrong and not for me. Need to get back to how they were.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Such a wonderful experience this morning after consulting on Econsult Tuesday received a phonecall and a doctors appointment for this Friday! Met a very kind, extremely knowledgeable doctor then walked up the road for my prescription from Lyminge Chemist who had my medication! A very efficient service with wonderful people! Thank you.

  7. Review titled Econsult Unfit for Purpose

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 January 2024

The Econsult system is too general. It cannot cope with ailments that do not fit into the strict boundaries it employs. As such, it is, for those cases, a barrier to treatment and compounded by the lack of GP coverage. This surgery has declined over the past few years and now appears to offer a very poor service.
