  1. Review titled Appointment missed

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Jason Wynn - Posted on 21 March 2025

Should of had a call today at 1430 as a call appointment but the surgery failed to call me as agreed, I like the way they can do missed appointments but when the public do it we get scolded for it. Disappointed as I rearranged my work diary for the missed call (appointment)

Dear Jason I am sorry that we didn't call you at an agreed time, the clinician must have been busy on that day, we dont normally agree a time of a call as they can often be running late with other urgent work coming in. I will pass on your comments to the team. Thank you Sue Business Manager

I have tried to get Typhoid injection 6 weeks now, finally given up went to boot's, filled in all paperwork handed it to reception, went to practice on two occasions to enquire, still waiting. What is point in filling in paperwork with phone numbers & Email address if practice can't be bothered to reply

Dear Patient, I am sorry that we have not contacted you with regards to a Typhoid injection. I am pleased you have been able to get this at a Pharmacy. We do try and prioritise our workload and on occasions there are services with more capacity than the practice. I will pass on your comments to the nurse and hope she can contact all patients waiting to be seen thank you Sue Business Manager

  3. Review titled Good GP if you're actually able to get an appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Chris - Posted on 12 November 2024

The staff are friendly and competent. However, trying to get any sort of appointment via phone is worse than pulling teeth. There used to be a queue system but that's long gone now so you have to sit and keep dialling until you stop getting a busy tone. Even if you start trying to call before the 8am opening time, chances are you're not getting through right away. My record is 84 attempts to call in a single day without successfully speaking to a member of staff to book an appointment. Fortunately I'm not trying to call in for anything hugely urgent, I worry for people who are.

I am sorry that this is your experience, we have checked the phone lines and the choice to allow us to call you back is still available. We do have the online Patches facility to contact the practice and we can call you back.

  5. Review titled Great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Debbie Gayle - Posted on 25 March 2024

I have used the centre around 4 times in the last few months. The reception staff were supportive and non judgemental when l called by phone and got really upset. I also observed them with other patients. They were empathetic and helpful and even came out to hug an older gentleman who was crying. They also came out from behind the counter to talk to mums and comment favourably about their babies and children. They displayed a very human touch. When l approached the desk to ask for an appointment l was embarrased about my condition which was work related stress but the receptionist's body language and responses were very supportive. I also had a great service from my GP. He was supportive, listened to me and was so reassuring. He explained about my symptoms and why he was or was not prescribing medicines. I have been able to see the same GP each time and the continuity of care has been really helpful. I am extremely impressed with the level of respect, care and dignity l have received and that which l have observed others receiving too. Too often we hear disparaging and angry complaints about health service customer service particularly doctor receptionists. l was so plesantly surprised that l felt compelled to provide some feedback on bith front of house customer service and medical treatment from my GP. Thank you.

  6. Review titled Struggle to get any type of appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

    by M Jones - Posted on 13 December 2023

I only needed a telephone consult but they cannot book in advance and you are told to call at 8am but every time I try I cannot get through so it appears the only way I can see them is by getting there at 8am..I explained this to the receptionist. I had strong pain and could not walk due to it. I don't have walking aids. I was alone and couldn't travel but zero exceptions were made for a future telephone consult so that I could get painkillers. I am now using expired ones rather than going without. Very poor system when someone is left in pain with receptionist repeatedly telling them to go to urgent care when they already have a diagnosis and have no means of getting there.

I am sorry for your experience, we are working hard to improve our systems, we have opened up more triage appointments and this should improve the access.
