  1. Review titled Diabolical

Rated 1 star out of 5

Moor Street surgery at 9am & 4pm today. For the 3rd time in as many months refused to see a 2 year old who wasn't well with an on going illness. Couldn't get past the receptionists who think they are the gate keepers to another realm. No appointments as too busy, can't book an appointment because that's not how it works. Again had to go to Alder hey as there is no possibility of her seeing her own doctor who as you can see has a waiting room full of sick patients. We had to take a wee sample at the consultants request in the afternoon and it took the receptionist (in an empty surgery) 30 minutes before she'd accept it from me even though notes from Alder hey had already been sent through. This is absolutely unacceptable that they refuse any care to an unwell toddler. This surgery is not fit for purpose.

  2. Review titled Attitude

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Every time I have reason to call the surgery I'm praying I don't get particular members of staff on the other end of the phone. It's 2 staff members in particular, 1 I think has a more senior role than just answering phone calls. People are ringing because they're ill and do not deserve to be left feeling like they're a nuisance. I've called here in tears before today and was left feeling worse because of the attitude of a certain staff member. She is well known amongst the local community for her poor attitude to patients. Ordering prescriptions is also an issue. I've been off my feet for a while and have had to order prescriptions over the phone or on the NHS app. I don't like being barked at regarding ordering over the phone, especially when I feel absolutely rubbish. I've just checked if I've put something on a request via the NHS app and couldn't remember if I'd added a certain item, again I was barked at about making sure everything i needed was put on at the same time and why can't i go back and check on the app (you can't see the notes you've added on the app and not all of my medicines are listed there). I feel like there needs to be either some staff changes or radical training given. On the good side a new receptionist has been answering a lot lately and she's absolutely delightful and can't be any more helpful.

  3. Review titled Appointment System -Rude Receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

To put it plainly, there is literally no point in this drs surgery anymore. It is impossible to get an appointment. Its really, really worrying. Rang over 100 times this morning to be told there is nothing they can do and to call back. I understand that the ladies on Reception are only following the rules set by the practice but is it necessary for one in particular to be so confrontational and down right rude? Sat here sobbing because nobody will help me! Completely at my whits end with something that can be solved with a simple drs appointment. I have not been able to get a drs appointment for myself or my child since before covid.

  4. Review titled A great surgery in very tough times

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I have found the Gp's and practice nurses great. We have been in the surgery for nearly 15 years and have seen quite a few changes with gp's but we do genuinely like the staff and think they do such a difficult job whilst being constantly underfunded like most NHS services today. Of course more appointments would be ideal as would more GPs. An easy way to get appointments would also be beneficial. The Care we have always received has been amazing and in the case of my little one life saving!

I have an extremely worrying health condition and called 97 times this morning before my call was answered (line busy/call ended before anyone spoke to me)

  7. Review titled Very rude receptionists

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I have to say that I very rarely call the surgery of visit the doctors but when every time I do I'm always met with a very rude receptionist. I'm always polite and friendly when I call, say please and thank you etc yet I'm always met with a rude response. I called up today as I had covid 4 weeks ago, I'm asthmatic and need a higher dose of steroid inhaler as I'[mj struggling to breathe which is rather scary. I was advised to go the walk in centre with a 4 hour wait. I politely instead suggested that I do not feel up to that and will call back tomorrow morning to try for an appointment again as I would rather speak with my own doctor regarding my asthma ongoing treatment. The general attitude was very rude and abrupt - no level of care for someone who is clearly struggling. It puts me off wanting to go the doctors at all to be honest. With this long term health issue I'm already feeling very down and this has tipped me over the edge today. A level of kindness would not go a miss. I appreciate the job is stressful but these people really should have a duty of care.

  8. Review titled Appointment Booking unfortunately gone down hill

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Disappointed - Posted on 16 June 2022

Used to be quite easy to book an appointment, online bookings could be booked at least a week in advance which was perfect for me as I have to give my employer a weeks notice to be absent. Now the only way to make an appointment is to try and call at 8am in the morning, which is when I have to travel to work. This makes it quite difficult as I'm travelling on the train, so often lose reception. I understood the need for phone consultations during the height of the covid crisis, but I don't know how someone who is working is meant to be available to receive a return call all day. Gone seem to the the day when doctors actually care about their patients and now it seems we've got to be grateful to actually speak to them.
