  2. Review titled Unable to re-order basic prescriptions

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Daniel Kelly - Posted on 08 November 2023

I have had problems now for 4 months running ordering prescriptions, they are unable to read requests for repeats on an app, then lie on the phone multiple times regarding a prescription and everyone is afraid to call back and explain and when you go and see them they fob you off again. I have had multiple appointments cancelled - been told I couldn’t have medication that I’ve been on for 10 years until I could have a review - yet they couldn’t do the review for 6 weeks yet it’s pain medication. The list goes on. The only decent thing is the nurses - and the pharmacy next door. I recommend somewhere else if you can.

  4. Review titled Good practice

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Having rang the practice for an appointment I was greeted with a nice receptionist and provided a virtual appointment with 2 hours. The GP rang me back within the hour and provided excellent patient care. I have visited the same GP on many occasions and have always found him excellent. Fantastic GP which I am pleased to have

  5. Review titled Go elsewhere

Rated 1 star out of 5

They do not care. You can’t speak to them (they don’t answer), only an online form which they ignore. They never reply (6 messages/appointment requests to date). Finally got a single phone appointment-they never called me. Can’t get them to reply to offer another one! Would rather you died so weren’t their problem. Worst service ever.

  7. Review titled Diagnosis made without seeing patient

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anthony Dowd - Posted on 03 September 2022

My daughter has had a cough for several months. TV adverts tell you to contact your GP if this is the case - which we have tried to do. We have tried in vain to see a doctor. The messaging section of Monton Medical centre has been disabled, making it harder. She had to make do with a telephone appointment with a nurse - not even a GP, not even a physical visit with a nurse. After going through questions, my daughter was told her cough was minor, it was viral, and there was nothing that could be done. This is disgraceful. This "diagnosis" was done without even bothering to check her chest / breathing / oxygen levels etc. It is no surprise that they are rated Inadequate by the Care Quality Commission if this is the level of 'service' patients receive. They cannot use Covid as an excuse for not doing their job properly. I say this as somebody who has 6 family members working for the NHS.

  8. Review titled Atrocious service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Frustrated patient - Posted on 30 August 2022

I went into this practice today to chase up a hospital referral which I was promised 13 weeks ago on 31st May during an appointment with one of the doctors. On speaking to the receptionist it turns out that I have not been referred at all, I've been waiting for 3 months. As so much time has elapsed I now have to have a new referral from the doctor, the first bookable telephone appointment is for 21st September when I hope I will be given a now urgent hospital referral. This service is just not good enough, I rang this morning to speak to somebody about this only to be told that I was 13th in the queue, I gave up. The telephone message advised people to leave messages on the website, unfortunately this service is no longer available on the website. Frustrated is not the word, they really need more reception staff and more doctors but, most of all, they need to get their act together !

  9. Review titled Abrasive doctors, sloppy repeat, not autism-friendly

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Andrew Williams - Posted on 12 May 2022

I had to walk out of my appointment, because the doctor's attitude stunk, after I was trying to get a further explanation about a prescription issue beyond 'because I said so'. It's difficult to even get an appointment, and when you do, it's really like pulling teeth for anything beyond a simple condition that doesn't need ongoing treatment. For something complex, ongoing, if you have concurrent conditions, or have psychiatric and/or developmental conditions, it can be a nightmare. Blood tests, follow up appointments, repeat prescriptions... they can be a mess. This surgery is also not friendly to those with Asperger's or autism, it being very difficult to get an in person appointment without needing a telephone consultation, and then having doctors behaving indifferently or with a bad attitude seemingly because you came in person. The doctors also now use a separate room for consultations with no working computer, so they have to keep walking out to read things or write prescriptions. They really seem to want to keep all consultations virtual forever, now they have a taste for it, despite having a decrepit phone system and insufficient people to take incoming calls, and wasting time with people having to have an appointment on the phone to get an appointment in person. This is just another example that NHS is really not fit for purpose, with all the bad GP surgeries I've experienced around Greater Manchester. I keep having bad experiences with this practice. I used to only stay for a specific GP, but she left... now I stay because I don't want to end up somewhere worse.
