  1. Review titled Reception staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

Very unhelpful when I receive letter for again to take me off register saying that I need documents but very uneasy giving personal information to them as I've heard some really bad stories of reception staff.will probably let it go as I would prefer to go hospital as staff being very unprofessional and not chance of complaining as I think it goes to the person that looks at it

  2. Review titled Horrible every single time

Rated 1 star out of 5

Have had a bad experience almost every time I come here. Have spent two weeks trying to get an appointment and finally got one today because the online booking system shows no appointments at all well into january however there are appointments available The dr I saw to me referred me to a cancer specialist however the referral seemed to contain mostly information about my “medicated depression” which this practice did not diagnose or treat me for. I was also asked what my name was halfway through the consultation Really really appalling, pathetic level of service

I had a problem with my prescription today and as always the wonderful staff on reception,Were extremely professional, very helpful and very kind. I have been with this first class practice for some 20 years and can’t recommend them highly enough.

  5. Review titled Exemplary Care at Millbank Medical Centre

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Karen Fitzpatrick - Posted on 12 November 2022

My husband has complex medical needs. When he felt unwell last week. I phoned for a telephone appointment with the duty doctor. The reception staff member was helpful and sympathetic. Within the same hour I received a phone call from a doctor. She was so kind and requested that we come for a face to face appointment the same morning to assess my husband in person. At this appointment, she was compassionate in care and understood exactly what his pain was and was eager to alleviate it. She was hugely empathetic. When I mentioned that I had a cough, she examined me too, to establish that I am well. She discussed that the carer sometimes forgets to care for themselves as well as they do their loved one. I found that insightful. The kind care and compassion that we have received from all members of the team, from reception & support staff, nurses and doctors at Millbank for the last 20years that our family have been patients has been outstanding and astounding. We really do appreciate you all.

  6. Review titled Really terrible practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

The receptionists are very unwelcoming, rude, I feel like I shouldn’t even call if I’m unwell. Another time, I was on the phone call queue for at least 30 minutes for an urgent query, when it was my turn finally, they picked up and hung up, meaning I had to join the queue all over again. I feel that they just want the job to be quick, and don’t care about my well-being. I should feel comfortable calling my GP, but the receptionists are so difficult to talk to.

Dear patient, thank you for taking the time to feedback. We are saddened to read your experience. We will ensure that the team are aware of your comments and endeavour to improve as our aim is to offer a welcoming and efficient service. We recognise that, although actively recruiting to all aspects of our team, it is extraordinarily busy currently which is stressful. We will continue to build support for the team so that despite this we offer a supportive service. We upgraded the telephones following previous feedback and will check the records re waiting times. We welcome you contacting our practice manager directly for comment or suggestions of how to improve. Thank you again, Dr McLaughlin

  7. Review titled Receptionists need training in people skills

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 April 2022

I’ve been with this practice for nearly 17 years. The receptionists just seem to get colder, without care and more abrupt year by year to the point where I feel I need to armour up to call. If they could just try and be a little kinder and have a little more patience, it would make all the difference but instead they feel like they are in a battle with the patients. It just makes the whole experience unnecessarily unpleasant. I’d love it if I could call and someone kind answered. I don’t think it’s much to ask.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback - we do value your comments and appreciate that you have experienced a negative pattern in your contact with the surgery. This saddens us, and I can assure you that we will use your feedback with the reception team, and also arrange additional training. We are mindful of the toll that the recent pandemic pressures have taken on people - both our team, community and the patient population. We are working at our senior management level to optimise the service that we provide at Millbank. Please contact the practice manager with direct feedback if that would be helpful.

  8. Review titled Doctor went home early

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Kyle Knight - Posted on 26 April 2022

I arrived for my appointment at 17:45 and was told by the receptionist the doctor left the building early. She even admitted he should have waited for me and to leave a complaint. I wasted my time and money coming up here, which is further frustrating because they kept calling me / texting me asking if I was coming.

Dear Kyle, thank you for taking the time to feedback both on NHS choices and google reviews. We will escalate your complaint to the relevant provider - as I cannot see that you are a registered Millbank Medical Centre patient. We host services such as physiotherapy, cardiology & dermatology for Westminster patients. We will clarify which service you are feeding back about and inform them in the morning. I apologise for the inconvenience. Best, Dr McLaughlin, GP
