  1. Review titled Poor accessibility

Unable to get through due to queue volumes and when you do get through, no appointments are available. Receptionists seem short in tone / communication.

the medical centre recently had to cancel my appointment, through no fault of their own, they sent me a message to apologise and say someone will be in touch to rearrange. they called me the following day in the evening(!) and offered an alternative appointment, this was very unexpected but welcomed. the centre also texted me to let me know my daughters flu vaccine was due and offered days when appointments were available, I just had to text back to say which day and they replied with available times, I requested my preferred time and they replied to confirm the appointment. so easy, no waiting on the phone and very grateful they took on the organising and reminding. Thank you to the practice for their continued great service at a time when all we hear it criticism. I have only ever had great service from the practice and its often felt that its above and beyond what we have come to expect. Thank you.

  3. Review titled Great service.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The practice were very flexible and helpful with my diabetes review. I thought the appointment was an hour later than it was supposed to be but the receptionist did her best to help me. She managed to get me an appointment within 20 minutes. The review itself was excellent and very thorough - much better than I received the last time prior to the pandemic. The help was very much appreciated. Thank you.

  4. Review titled General Service

Difficulty getting appointments ( usually have to physically attend reception) .Lack of follow up on blood test results (jargon and figures can’t understand ) .Given phone no to make my own x ray appointment. We are a couple in our 77s .My wife has had 2 bouts of cancer and now has dementia. I have recently had a left hip replacement after a 2 year wait and now have a right knee problem that restricts me to 50 yard walk before extreme pain. We had a email telling us about covid and flu injections but had to chase up appointment despite replying saying we would be advised of a date. Appointment made after personal visit to surgery made fingers crossed it’s ok as to my knowledge not on my personal medical details.I could go on but my opinion is the service is no where near what it should be for pensioners still paying taxes

  5. Review titled You can never get through!

Rated 1 star out of 5

Whether you call, email or message you can never, ever get through to them. I've waited 45 mins on the phone and I'm still caller 13!! If you go to the practice, you can wait 20 mins to be seen at the desk. Perhaps employ more receptionists? This is impossible to even be answered nevermind get an appointment. Awful

  6. Review titled Waiting times on phones for an appointment unacceptable

Called on a monday at 8am, could not get through. called again at 8:30 til 9:15 then had to leave to do some work, still didn't get through. called again at 11:30- told no more appointments that day after a 40 minute wait to hear this. called tuesday after another 40 minute wait finally got an appointment. told prescription would be at pharmacy within the hour. 2.5.hrs later no sign of prescription... I very rarely call the practice as I know how difficult to get any response or appointment , despite having now come out of covid... mickleover needs more gp surgeries, urgently and I will move if possible

  7. Review titled Flu vaccinations

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Fantastic service offered for flu and covid jabs. I visited twice once for myself and once for my elderly mother. The legion was a great location lots of parking close to the main building unlike when we visit the practice and lots of room inside for those with limited mobility. It was very well run

  8. Review titled First class experience at this practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My telephone request for an appointment at Mickleover Medical Centre on a Monday morning (10/10/2022) was dealt with speedily and with professional care. I was able to see a Doctor just over an hour later in person. He soon diagnosed a trapped nerve, prescribed some medication & also booked a physio appointment for the following day. I couldn’t have received better care if I had been a private patient. Many thanks to all the staff.

  9. Review titled Disappointed with this practice

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Having contacted the surgery on the 14th July feeling desperate about the awful eczema around my eyes that had become infected, sending photos, they were really helpful, prescribing some things that helped and some that didn't, but the promise to consult/refer to a dermatologist. After ups and downs with the condition ever since, I hung on to the fact that I'd been referred and understanding that waiting lists are longer at the moment, then to find out today that no dermatologist has been contacted 3 months later, is to say the least extremely disappointing and heart breaking. This is massively affecting my mental health to say the least. Then another blow is that today I was prescribed a cream meant to help that has been discontinued - what can I say, I have nowhere to turn!

  10. Review titled Great friendly service!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Dave Kelsey - Posted on 04 August 2022

I had badly blocked ears and despite trying to resolve the issue myself I had no success. I could barely hear so the problem needed sorting out quickly. I rang and explained to the receptionist the problem and managed to get an appointment for that same morning. The nurse who saw me was very friendly and so helpful. She syringed my ears and was very diligent in clearing the problem. The difference in my hearing was great! Thank you for the excellent service today.
